Wow, thats quite a low blow… Codemasters just announced F1 2014, to be released 17th Oct (21st in US), and its gonna be last gen only :S
Current Gen will be released early in the 2015 season and will be constantly updated to reflect whats happening in the real F1 during the season. Its based on a new engine that wont be ready before 2015, hence the delay.

on a positive note:
- new, dedicated current gen engine
- game is being released at the beginning of the season and not when its nearly over
- more time to dig into FH2 and Project Cars
wow that sucks, I’m getting really annoyed with last gen only releases, with both Grid and F1 2014 both being last gen only. I guess it’s good we will eventually get a next gen version of F1, although four to five months is along time to wait 
Well this one sounds like its doing what some people suggested Forza should have done - waited until the game is ready before release.
Time to see how people feel about waiting versus having a game now. For me I want an F1 game on the One. I would like it now but would not want a bad game given the F1 games are one dimensional so if there is something wrong its like the whole game is broken.
At least with waiting they make it pretty good not like bf4 that was a mess. Also gives them time to make the cars sound better in real life.
Old or next gen, doesn’t matter to me. Without classic cars they can keep it.
Should give the licence to Turn 10,Codemasters suck.
Codemasters can actually make the career mode interesting though. Five minutes on Forza and I’m bored. Takes a few hours on F1 usually before that happens.
Multiplayer on the other hand…
They should go back to basics like they had in F1 2010 with a few minor tweaks. Loved racing online in that.
if Microsoft gained the F1 license I doubt they would make a new racing series for F1 but rather put the tracks & cars in Forza.
and that license would need to be bought
Codies make a pretty good F1 game! One of the few games the wheel feels good on,l have liked them since F1 2010!
