This Bridgestone rivals event got me thinking that it might be cool if they had rivals competitions that unlocked exclusive liveries and driver suits for getting in the top % of a rivals event.
Say they have an exclusive driver suit only the top 10% can unlock in a given week, that could be interesting. What do you all think?
Didn’t they win an award for creating a very accessibillity friendly game? I don’t know how a one handed person should be able to get under the first 10%, but I could be wrong of course.
Make it a partcipation award just for setting any record and then it would be okay I guess. This way more play the rivals mode and it’s fair for the handicapped ppl.
No. Firstly, because this game doesn’t need more BS artificial scarcity. Secondly, because that would just mean rewarding the same top players every week, while the rest gets nothing.
They should bring back Bounty Hunters, they were one of my favourite parts back when I didn’t do MP. 90% of my “friends” list in Xbox Live is Turn 10 employees and professional race drivers due to it (not that I actually interact with them, apart from in the old forum threads for each monthly challenge)
When the game still has so many fundamental shortcomings, this kind of thing would just feel like a slimy gimmick to pump up “eNgAgEmEnT” metrics.
Fix first.
Embellish later.
Make players want more of a good thing instead of using bait to lure players into being locked inside an outhouse for a while just for some content.
…Although, in general, I like the idea of incentivizing & rewarding skill to motivate more players to actually try.
Not that everyone should aspire to be world-record contenders, but the higher the average skill level rises, the better racing we can all enjoy together.
I don’t like gatekeeping, but it seems like much of the racing is bad because the game offers no incentive to even try.
It’s just plain stupid that was never part of the game from day one. It was part of motoGP way back in the early years of that franchise. And I’ve already voted that up here.
