I guess most people aren't playing rivals yet?

I’ve been setting top 30-50 times on most tracks & usually I’m not that good at this! heh, So i guess the serious ‘rivals’ players aren’t playing much yet?

add me GT = thabudmaster

Will add you but I don’t think we are in the same ballpark if you are top 30-50. Now that I finished all the campaign and exhibition races and that drivatars are so frustrating I grow new grey hairs by the minute, I might swing around and start doing more hot lapping. After all about all my times on the boards now are from racing against the AI and in stock cars. There is a lot of room for improvement.

Thinking about it, can you do rivals in a group? Meaning that if I make a horizon group with a buddy, can we both race the same track and each race our own rivals or set our own best times? Of course with collisions off so we don’t hit each other.

Rivals don’t work in co-op if that’s what you mean? if your just in a group and playing single player you will just do rivals as normal without anyone.

I’m guessing the no collisions lobby should post time to rivals and would be a fun way to do as group.

Yes that’s what I ment, thanks! So to set this up you will need private online freeroam with collisions off I guess and when you start a circuit race it’s just you and your friends without drivatars?

just tried it out! it works. have fun

sorry I should have said Class A for now, I’ll be moving onto differerent classes soon

Yeah I set a top 100 in a stock Mazda 3  Can’t remember it was 50 or 60 something.

I normally don’t get into Rivals until mid to late in the lifespan as well, still too much to do.

I’ve just responded to a couple of challenges mainly.

I don’t really dig hotlapping these days. It used to be one of my favourite things, but I guess my tastes have changed. I prefer to race in person.

I play a lot of rivals and have posted a few good times so far but I haven’t really been attacking the leaderboards yet. Mainly just testing cars and learning the courses. Once I get a stable of cars/builds I really like and learn the tracks cold I will start playing online against humans and also try to set some serious times in rivals. But there are so many cars to build and test it will be a while before I will really seriously attack rivals.

This is the first forza I bought on day one. I’m used to the leaderboards being more full than this. I’ve gotten a few top ten times. But I’m sure it won’t be too long before I’m bumped way down the list.

Now that dirty laps have been added for rewind most times will be dirty so its easier to get a high placement.

Basically this. By the nature of the game it’s almost impossible not to get a dirty lap in general racing, hence the dirty lap concept was absent until now. It’s safe to assume the non-dirty times are set almost exclusively by people in Rivals.

This would be most true in point to point races.

Circuit races have the higher chance of producing a clean lap during campaign races.

Normally I’d agree with you. But it’s a pain to get clean lap on circuits. Even on new raceryour either got someone in your draft ( crazy fast friend drivatar ) or laping new racer drivatar.

The only place I seem to get clean is on cross country with the start up front perk when in a car that accelerate well to get away from pack that could draft and ruin clean time.

Even Goliath you never have clear lap ever. (Though that seems to be the game not being able to keep up)

Not yet. I’m not sure they work even. Do you get payout credits after setting a time?

I love rivals and have played it quite a lot already. I don’t bother much with classes d or s2. It’s the best way of learning the corners. I don’t use typical leaderboard cars either. My pet hate is the fact some cars seem to be way over powered. For example on maroondah sprint the top guy is using a lancer and it just blew my ferrari f 50 away within two corners. The car is obv performing too well for the class

It’s early. Usually takes a while before the fast guys really hit the boards hard. Then again I’ve noticed quite a few fast players not really care. Could be some are just playing horizon for fun without any bother to showing off.

I’d wager the penalties for rewind and wall usage probably aren’t helping either. I recall many using that as a crutch.

I’ve had fun running new cars on the boards just to see what happens. Almost got a 300hp alfa (can’t remember name…it’s the one in c class that’s awd) in the top 10 yesterday. Didn’t quite have enough to beat the acceleration tunes but was fun just to put a weirdo car near the top.

I have been doing a bit of rivals mainly on S1 and have set a few top 10s and a few top 20s and 50s but not using the LB cars like the Subaru and Bugatti, i will later on when rivals get a bit busier, im just having fun tuning and and racing and also putting different cars on the LB.

If anyone wants to get together and do some rivals on S1 maybe even A class send me a message or FR.

If you need any tunes just look me up on my name in the SF, all S1 tunes.
