Excessive GRIP if we chase

I don’t know if other players have noticed this problem, let me explain
when we play online and we have a driver behind us he reaches us quickly because the car behind does not have the volume of air that slows down the vehicle, and this can be good, what is not good is when the second driver or whoever The cars behind have more stable cornering than those in first position. If you pay attention, when you are in front, our car suddenly doesn’t have much grip, while when we are chasing the vehicle in front of us, the Our vehicle goes very well when cornering and brakes even better, sorry for the English translation, I hope you understand what I mean.
I hope they fix this problem, if my car goes half a second faster in qualifying, in the race I don’t make a difference, the cars that were slower are stuck to us.

Yeah, I think they did some physics changes deep in the shadows and didn’t say anything about it.

It’s my understanding that this happens in real life? Just not as dramatically. Do you think they changed it more last update?

The changes might not even be intentional, who knows.

I had heard Halo Infinite would sometimes have issues come back after updates.

I remember this was a big problem right after launch. The “reverse aero wash” bug. They made changes and it improved the problem. Maybe it has resurfaced now, or maybe you were driving in a combo that is particularly sensitive to this issue.

Chasing is definitely easier, and it’s probably that way to induce closer racing. Who knows though, as @GeneralGarric69 said, it may not even be intentional.

It was certainly done to have more fights between the vehicles, but it does not reward those who in qualifying have a setup that is 1 second faster per lap, this is because in the race the chasing car, in addition to having the slipstream protected from the In the air you also have better control of the vehicle, while the driver in front has sudden losses of grip, and when he goes behind to chase, he too will have more grip, this distorts a race.

I hate the idea of this soooo much. It makes the race a theatre, not a competition.

It was way worse before, blatantly obvious and yet… nobody seemed to notice.

The car ahead would lose so much grip, it’d be as if you reduced it by half, causing the grippiest cars in the game to slide.

The inconsistent grip leads to more accidents if anything, its way overdone however they are doing it at the moment. If people were still playing we would hear more about it.
T10, please dont leave it like this.

Maybe if brake fade was introduced to the game you would have more players deciding do I stay in the hot air or jump out and grab some cool for my brakes

WHen they arbitrarily changed the aero wash is when I decided I had enough of this game.
When you change the physics for evening up game play, shows you just threw all your physics out the window. I don’t want to play a game that they can change the settings whenever they want to try balance game play.

I want the physics they promised us. I want a game that plays the same for all the cars on all the tracks. Same deal with tires wearing out after 5 laps of a 6 lap race. Bleeping garbage.

Nah I remember there being a big discussion about it.

Yes, and there were a lot of people denying it was a thing.

This was the mega thread about it at the time.

Exactly, I don’t understand why not eliminate this problem, given that on Forza Motorsport 7 and even on the older ones there was no such help for those who were behind to catch up

I got turned around bigtime today cause of the car behind, just went into the high-speed corner and didn’t touch the ripple strip but the bloke behind was so close it sent me into a 360, he didn’t bump me and we had been battling well, he was probably just as surprised how a car can go into a flat 360 in 0.001 of a second

Yup, just felt it on Maple Valley in X Class. Will post video soon.
