Ever been in, say, 3rd, then on the last lap, you're suddenly in 5th?

While playing Forza 6 this evening, I was in 7th (the track isn’t important). Then on the last lap, I look up, and I’m in 9th? No one passed me either. I’m pretty sure the track wasn’t cut by someone behind me. This happened a few times while playing Forza Five a while back. Then, I decided to REALLY watch the other drivers, the cars on the track, and the results. OK … what was discovered was: two additional cars were now in front of me, but I’m sure those car’s weren’t in the race. Either Forza five/six have a nasty glitch, or someone has figured out how to do a HUGE cheat. Also, there are always two or three cars which aren’t used … but are just left at the track’s starting area. It was so bad that night, I left the game.
((If Xbox/Turn Ten isn’t responsible, then how is it being done?)))
SO … when you’ve busted your backside on Nurburgring’s long track and you’re racing along in 2nd place, but then look up towards the end and you’re in 4th or fifth, you are NOT loosing your mind!! LOL SOMEONE has figured out how to cheat you out of your hard work and B-slap the daylight’s out of ya’! This TRULY needs to be stopped. BD

If there are cars stationary on the grid then it is a network issue, The cars were racing but on your screen they don’t move

To add to this, when they cross the finish line they get added back to your scoreboard. Those drivers that finished ahead of you in this state are the reason you suddenly fall down the order.

It can be a little bigger problem than just finding yourself suddenly lower in the finish order. Those other racers you don’t see may indeed see you and be more than a little annoyed with how you have been driving since you might have unknowingly wrecked them.

On several occasions, while racing in a party, one or more of us can not “see” another of our friends or someone else in the lobby. We usually find this out when someone asks “Why did you just deliberately take “Player X” out?” and you have no idea why you’ve been asked. The next question asked is usually “How many racers do you seen the race?” Because, one indication/confirmation that you are not seeing “Player X” is that on your screen you see your running order among N (3 out of 8 for example) racers when there are and others are seeing there place among N+1 (9 in the example) or more actually in the lobby…

Unfortunately, just because you don’t see the “missing” racer does not mean that they don’t see you - and what’s worse - while you don’t see or feel any interaction with them - they ARE impacted by you. This has the potential to create some very unfortunate animosity in a lobby and can have a serious impact on how others perceive your racing skill and sportsmanship.

When this occurs, it continues from race to race. The way we have found to remedy it is for the person who does not “see” someone to back out of the lobby, quit and restart the Forza GAME (console cold restart is not usually required), and then rejoin the lobby.

Of course, if you are not in a party with the “invisible” racer - or not somehow made aware of the issue, it can continue undetected - unless you notice it by observing like the OP describes.

My suggestion is to QUIT the lobby and restart your Forza game and then rejoin if you can - or move on. You are risking at least one other player attributing undesirable behavior on your part if you remain. You, on the other hand, will never know.

You say that like it’s his fault.

No - I say that because my reputation is important to ME - that others trust me to hold my line, make clean passes and generally respect others. Of course I make mistakes but ramming an invisible car of someone who has no idea I can’t see them is completely inconsistent with my efforts. SO - I restart my game to avoid this when I discover it has happened - AGAIN.

I like to drive on-line in the same manner I drive and instruct on track. Like my life, your life and our equipment are all valuable and vulnerable..

I,m so glad it isn’t just me then, I thought I had been imagining things. Thanks for explaining Pj

Hopefully one day they fix that netcode issue because that really bums me out on nights when it happens. You find yourself asking “Where am I, really?” You start wondering are you winning, last place, even at the track?

This issue dates back to FM2 and as a previous mentioned, its a network issue.

I’ve been in first position on the very last corner then finished 5th. That was because I had a lapse of concentration and spun the car though…
