Is anyone else having problems with the indie car while using manual/w clutch, at start up it doesn’t even move!
If you BLIP the throttle…while clutch pressed, then release clutch…does it move then?
If so,…sounds like a normal operating clutch. If it still doesn’t move with a slight blip…then I dunno.
Yeah always been a prob with these long ratio cars when you use Man+Clutch. Just sink clutch and dump the split second u can go
nope the slight blip doesnt work, I literally have to try it 3 times to even get the car going.
Same happen to me, and, had to restart over-and-over until I finally got an OK start. All the Drivatars were all passing before 1st turn,
The AWD cars also seem to have a similar problem!!!
pretty weird, they really need to fix that.
This was an issue in the demo as well. I fixed it by racing manual for that one race.
If you use manual with clutch and floor the throttle waiting for “go” nothing happens when you drop the clutch. The car literally takes about 10 - 20 seconds to get going at which point you’re well in last place.
WOW…didn’t have that issue on the demo. I did use clutch for that but I only had time to play a little of the actual game today at lunch so I did not get to use the CLUTCH. Hope that gets squared away. Definitely used to a clutch now for the past several forza games…not going back now.
Why would you want to use manual with clutch with the Indycar anyway? It’s a paddle shift in real life, therefore the manual only option changes gear quicker!
yeah but thats not the point.
I gather it’s something to do with gear ratios, but a few of my cars are a hassle to get off the line with. I race manual with clutch and if i were to hold the accelerator down as the countdown occurs, then my car will jump forward and then stop and try and rev to spin the wheels. I’ve held the clutch down to help out, but i end up having to hold the clutch, red line it and then repeat until i get moving and it kills my launch times so badly!
What do i do about this?
Either add more power, adjust 1st gear, or get a clutch button that you can slip.
Right o, i’ll have a mess about and see what comes of it. cheers!
In REAL life…sure but…not in the game hoss. RPMS still drop with gear change on manual…try it with a clutch. Do a standing mile, see which one has more MPH.
I had this same issue too. Its painful to say the least. Ive found some success in holding the clutch and releasing it right after the start timer hits 0. But again, all the other cars get a jump on you. True they are paddle shift in real life but im not switching my difficulty setting every race to match the cars actual hardware…
yeh I too have a struggle with getting a good launch in the Indycars using manual w/ clutch…always takes a few seconds to get going, almost like the car was stalled out but it wasn’t…no other car so far in the game has given me any issues with this.
It’s the long gear box. Go tune the car and make 1st gear shorter and things should be fine.
I agree, did tune my gears and the problem got fix however any car with stock or sport gear box will not be the same but what i’ve done is to press cluch with revs at max then drop the clutch and it should work (at least it worked for me)
Man, I thought this thread was going to be about a clutch that was trying to stay away from a large label.
So, to launch cars in FM6, don’t rev up all the way. It is a lot like a drag launch where you want to find the sweet spot. On the Indy car, put the revs at like 8K, hold it there with the clutch in, and when the timer hits 0, release the clutch and then quickly mash the throttle.
Any FYI, most race cars that have paddles also have clutches, just FYI.
