Engine power cutting out

On any track, the engine power drops off at full throttle at various points on the track. This happens every time I race on a track, and the power always falls off at the same places on the track. I switched from my Thrustmaster TX Wheel / Pedal Set to the Xbox One Hand Controller and vice versa with no effect on issue. Rebooted console with no effect on issue. Removed, cleaned and re-inserted FORZA 5 disc with no effect on issue. Any thoughts on issue cause? Thanks.

It sounds like u have braking assist on. Go into your profile and turn it off.

Thanks, ERS Johnson. You solved my problem. I had by mistake turned on “Assisted” braking.

No mistake by you, the game turns it on at the start.

Well I’m glad it was a simple fix… now go tear up the track!!!

Old thread, I know. But it helped me out big time. I was having the exact same throttle cut-out issue. I thought I’d contribute. To begin with, I couldn’t figure out where the Assists menu was. As with many other elements in Forza 5, it is not located in an intuitive place in the menus. You have to be in the track selection menu for a specific track before you will be given the option to open the Assists menu by pressing the X button (option in lower right corner of screen.) Disabling brake assist is also not intuitive. There are actually 3 settings for braking: Assisted, ABS On, ABS Off. At first glance, I thought I had brake assist turned off because it read 0% next to Assisted, which, in fact indicated that I actually had assisted braking on and was not getting a points bonus. What you are after is ABS Off, which can be selected by highlighting the Braking row and pressing right twice on the D-pad.
