Thrustmaster Throttle is cutting out

Hi There,

Wondering if I’m alone in this. Using my Thrustmaster, and in 3rd and 4th gear even though the onscreen display shows that I’m at 100%, the throttle cuts out like I’m letting up. Anybody else have this problem?

First, what assists are you using in forza? TCS and STM will both cut power if your wheels are spinning/going into a slide.

Secondly, have you updated the firmware on the TX? I know it seems silly to ask.

Thirdly, disconnect the usb cable from the Xbox one, turn the power off to the wheel, disconnect the cable for the pedals, turn off the Xbox ones instant on mode and turn off the console. Then turn the xbox one back on, reconnect the pedals to the wheel base, turn the power to the wheel back on, and then plug the usb cable back into the Xbox one. Allow the wheel to calibrate, restart forza (do not touch the wheel or pedals while the game is loading, THIS IS IMPORTANT! and also recommended by thrustmaster themselves in the TX user manual), load a car and track you like (do not touch the pedals or wheel while the track is loading, THIS IS IMPORTANT! again, recommended by thrustmaster themselves in the TX user manual).

If this doesn’t help, then connect the TX to a pc and use the Thrustmaster TX control panel to verify the pedals and wheel are functioning correctly. The very first tab in the Thrustmaster control panel will show all button presses, movement of the wheel, and movement of the pedals. If the pedals do not react properly in there, contact thrustmaster for assistance.

I’m running without any assists, and I did update the firmware when I first received the wheel. I unplug the wheel from the USB port after every use. I will try the rest of what you suggest when I return from travel. More to come.

I’m using the standard Xbox One controller, and I have this problem on a semi-regular basis. I normally use Assisted braking (all other handling assists turned off), and I randomly lose throttle response for a couple of seconds in the middle of straights - I’ve tried this with Manual braking as well, same thing happens, usually in the same spots on the same tracks (Le Mans and Prague are the two I’ve been noticing it on the most often, although I’ve had it happen on most tracks).

I’ve also noticed the text input when naming custom tunes is noticeably laggy, as is the selection of purchased/upgraded parts, so I’m wondering if the game or console is experiencing some general input lag or processing hiccups and the throttle cut-out is symptomatic of something deeper.

I know that’s not really an answer to your question, just a little input from a person having a similar problem with throttle problems.

I have the same issue but it gets progressively worse until I lose total throttle and brake connection! Is there a fix for this? I installed the new drivers already.

I’ve had this happen to me once with the brake input and all I did was turn the wheel off, disconnect it from my Xbox, unplug it from the wall, unplug the pedals from the base, reset the Xbox by holding the power button on front until it shuts off, wait for the light on the power brick to go orange, then turn it back on, hook the wheel back up and it worked fine and haven’t had a problem since.

I too am having the same problem, in a straight in high gear so wheel spin should not be an issue.

I have assisted braking on. I have also tried TCS and STM turned off. It typically happens in the same spots on the same tracks no matter what car I am driving. Very FRUSTRATING>

I know this is an old thread, but I have the same exact issue with my Fanatec. In certain tracks at certain turns, usually in 3rd gear, even though the throttle bar shows 100%, the car engine idles and there is NO acceleration. Wondering what the deal is.
