Just bought a elite controller. I have used the app to configure it but do I have to go to advanced settings to tweak it. If so where do I find the advanced settings. I have seen Leetorts post about this controller and agree that it is better and worth the money.
From the games controller settings just press the x button and set it like this http://xboxracingpro.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/9-3-2016_8-42-51_PM-e1472949971889.png?x44894 .From the accessories menu I just set the left analog to “smooth” and use the long thumbstick for it for more precision during sturing. I also messed with vibration settings but all of those are a matter of personal preference. I also use manual transmission but with a and b buttons beucase no matter how hard I tried, I cant use the back paddles in forza so I just dont use them at all. Hope this helps.
Hey GRK333,
In the app under “configure” select a preset or create a new one and then select edit. There you can tweak everything.
P.S I hope you purchased an extended warranty as you will probably get the stick drift problem and M$ will not replace or repair after 3 months. Unbelievable for a $200 controller.
get the extended warranty, I’m on my 2nd controller. Left thumbstick was going up and down in its casing, MS didn’t care and only 1 week after warranty was up which is only 3 months.
I prefer aggressive but turn it down, there is a slider for how aggressive. As the left stick wears out I turn it up little by little to compensate for stick damage until I exchange the controller at the MS store. As long as it is under 3 months and you have the receipt they will always exchange it. Done it literally like 10 times. After 3 mths the left stick is usually pretty shot. Wouldn’t hurt to get an extended warranty though, I figure eventually they are gonna ban me from the store lol.
Thanks for the advice guys but not what I really wanted to hear. I thought these controllers were built better and I must admit they are a lot more comfortable to use. But a 3 month lifespan is a real bummer. I will be double checking with the store where I bought it regarding the warranty. No MS store here so I am safe from a ban. LOL.
I’ve read some people have had problems but my buddy and I have had ours since day one with 2000+ hours on mine and I assume 3000+ for him. With zero problems til a month ago for him and yesterday for me. Our problem is the rubber is starting to come off the bottom.
I’ve had mine for about 10months now. I use it daily for at least 2 hours (some days 4-5 hours) and I haven’t had any stick drift issues or performance issues at all. I just noticed the rubber grip portion is pulling off the controller of the left side, and I glued it back in place. That’s been my only issue.
I just ordered a new one today. There wasn’t an option for an extended warrant from the store I ordered it from, so I hope I can buy it when I register it and set it up.
I found it for $115 at an online store that is available to military and veterans, called Stripes Entertainment.
I notice a considerable difference using the elite controller. I believe it is more precise and more comfortable.
Edit: should have said 10 months.
I’ve had my Elite controller for a year and a half now, and I haven’t had any issues with the controller itself. I’ve had some issues with FM6 loading about a year ago, which was fixed in a title update.
But as far as the controller goes, it’s still as good as the day I bought it.
Maybe Microsoft’s team has buckled down on the quality of the controllers… Ok, you can quit laughing, I said it as a joke. haha
