This unofficial/unconfirmed eliminator leak surprised me to say the least. The speculated changes to the eliminator are very promising, specifically the revision of cars, addition of a progression system and much much more.
Now I’m not the biggest fan of eliminator in FH5 in comparison to FH4 due to the map, but if this turns out to be true then well done PGG!!! Seriously these are the types of changes that I think will have the biggest impact. Keeping content fresh, mixing things up, engaging players, improving what already exists. All positives. I really hope to see similar improvements to other aspects of the game such as online racing in 2023.
This thread is less about the changes but more about the direction. If it turns out to be true that is…

I’m not a fan of the Eliminator, and if you’re not a fan you just wish they had done something else instead.

It’s not all about you Aqua.

Let’s wait to give any praise until we see what they actually release. There’s already been a few ideas that sounded promising on paper (World Cup for example) but turned out to be dull, non-competitive and minimal effort for PGG.

I agree let’s wait and see but nothing to date has caught my eye like these speculated updates. So hopefully it is true and executed well and more importantly the first big step in many to improving key aspects of this game. I’m guessing these changes will be the last major update prior to expac 2.
Since there are sound files of that co-op Eliminator it’ll come at some point. Probably early 2023 with H1 anniversary upcoming, Donut Media still waiting and lastly Christmas stuff.
Judging by the files it could spice up the mode providing more tactic and progress. But it’s PG after all…

This would definitely suck me back into playing long hours again. Leveling system, new cars, XP boards and new starter cars. I’m beyond bored of whats been offered so far. I’ve been thinking back on FH4 and I think I have an idea why they take so long to add what the players really want.

Looks like I need to find someone else with a Destruction Derby themed name.

Same here. For me, Eliminator is nails on a chalkboard.
I’d rather the devs spend time designing a game mode promoting community get togethers. For years, players have been asking for a car show mode where people can hang out, chat, show off liveries, and do general hooning.

Oh great, more attention given to this irrelevant, defocusing element of the game while the actual racing component sits with less than barebones features.
And the wasting of this franchise’s potential reaches a new high.

Good point.
October - 10 year anniversary
November - We all eat donuts
December - Eliminator
Yummm….I mean great prediction!
Eliminator desperately needs an overhaul….sounds reasonable. I would imagine new achievements and cars will be associated with this.
I hope so, could do with some achievements to get my teeth into rather than quick throwaway update achievements where the biggest problem is the achievements themselves being buggy like the 2 Open ones in the Series 10 update.
Maybe for the 1st time in Eliminator history they’ll stop the car selection menu being completely pointless by giving us a choice of starter cars.

Yeah, not thrilled in the slightest about this leak. Sorry. I’ll especially be upset if there are new vehicles locked behind it as well, meaning I’d have to fork out more money for a temporary subscription to Live Gold.
I’m the opposite. I think it’s great that they maybe making big improvements to an aspect of the game that a big chunk of players enjoy. I wouldn’t include myself in that chunk but I acknowledge that the eliminator is stale having remained unchanged for a year now, and that for over 8 months eliminator players have requested a revisal of cars. Now these players are getting all these changes plus more. I think that is incredibly awesome and I can only hope they do the same with other aspects of the game. Then again I know this is wishful thinking.

Do a lot of people play this game mode though? Almost nobody talks about it here, nobody talks about it on either of the Forza subreddits, and I can only name one significant Forza YouTuber who still plays it, and he’s been dying down in popularity. I’ve just assumed kind of figured it was about as unplayed as Super7 has been since launch.
Yes, alot of people play it. The best indication of it’s popularity is to queue up and take note of how quickly a match forms and how many players join.

…and is only available to online players, coupled with increased weekly online only activities and achievements makes it pretty clear why this is a focus area…

You could fault anything and everything they do. But I think it’s important to acknowledge when they do good things, even if it doesn’t benefit us personally such as myself. This is the first set of changes I’ve seen in the whole 12 months this game has been out which sounds like a step in the right direction. Changes to improve and enhance an existing major aspect of the game. Assuming this is not a hoax and that they execute it well then maybe we can put back on our wishful thinking hats and hope they do the same for other key aspects of the game where such improvements would do wonders.

It’s definitely not a hoax, as voice lines by the Ramiro actor were discovered. However, my impression is that this Eliminator leak most revolves around a co-op mode separate from the main Eliminator, so I get the impression all of the information is likely for this mode, and the original Eliminator will remain the same.
