still no increase in credits , still no fun for me anymore . i want to collect and tune cars , not possible because of the grindfest . i`m not wasting my time on this .
This is the easiest game to earn credits, and collect cars in. You can rent a car and earn credits and xp just by driving around in any mode. You’ve either never played another racing game before, or you’re trolling.
POLL: Do you struggle collecting credits, cars, or parts in this game?
- Yes, payouts need to be bigger
- No, I have enough credits and cars
Perhaps he played either FM5, FM6, FM7 (or FH1, FH2, FH3, FH4 or FH5), which ALL had easier economies than FM23. Though none of thsse are “racing games”, per your post?
The cost of cars looks low, but the payouts are also low and you don’t get free cars gifted via e.g. Horizon wheelspins.
You do however get the 35k every 5 levels which helps (this used to be 50k in FM7 so has been nerfed by 30%).
There are currently 252 cars in FM23, which have a cost of 200k+ . Some of those were car pass or reward cars, let’s say 200 cars at 200k+.
At level 4 with VIP, the Featured Tour earns you 2k per minute of racing (less in reality due to loading times, menus etc). It’s, therefore, 200 x 200 /2 /60 = 333 hours of actual racing (excluding menus etc) to buy these 200 cars (actually its more like 500 or 600 hours since 171 of those 252 cars are 300k +.
(Car values are as per the Kudosprime website)
When you have finished buying those 252 cars, you only have 365 cars left to buy at 0-200k.
I haven’t done the maths for those 365, but even if they average at half the time of the other 252 cars you’re not going to be far off 1,000 hours to buy all the cars in FM23. Lets be charitable again and say it’ll only be 750 hours to buy all the cars in this game.
Note all the above are objective facts apart from the guestimate in the last paragraph.
This is “the easiest game to earn credits or collect cars in”. I would agree with you on the first part as there are many ways to earn credits, however you are objectively incorrect on the second part.
Collecting cars was easier in:
FM5
FM6
FM7
(And
FH1
FH2
FH3
FH4
FH5).
If you had said “earn credits or drive cars in” you would have been more accurate. The ability to rent cars makes the game much much more accessible, for sure, when compared to GT7 for example which only has this for certain things such as the time trials.
Incidentally, i’m anticipating the wheelspins might go when FH6 arrives, based on FM23, which would be interesting…
Having to work (race) substantially for your credits to buy cars is the way it should be. It was far too easy to earn credits in previous titles.
It’s a video game, not a job.
Let people have fun.
I disagree. At minimum, there should be the option to opt out of these economics, because they’re frankly pointless, if not worse.
Some people are enthralled by grinding, and I do mean literally under the spell the feedback loop, and I just don’t get it. I’m here to drive cars. Driving cars to get credits to buy cars to drive cars sounds like a lot of unnecessary steps, and like a waste of my time.
And the fact you use wording like “work” really highlights just how these mechanics aren’t about fun or gameplay.
I agree. I feels like I’m working after getting done from work. I don’t want to sit on the couch in front of the TV longer than I have to. I got things to do. All I want is to drive my favourite cars, boost them, tune them, hotlap them, that’s it. I’m happy as I can be.
Please T10 devs, abolish FOMO and give everyone access to the cars. At least make them available in the dealership to buy. I don’t mind grinding for cash to buy those cars. As long as I don’t have to excessively grind for hours.
I do like the cars being accessible; it suits my schedule.
But I was struck by my attempts to create 5/6 drift cars out of bog standard passenger cars.
I just ran through my entire balance doing that!
Passenger cars should be cheap and timely to upgrade. Think of the average guy trying to customise his car on a little budget.
Whereas upper tier competiton cars are, whilst accessible, tougher & more expensive to prep.
That to me is the balance.
Simply playing the game however one chooses should be enough; be it the curated events both MP or career, Rivals, or sharing liveries or tunes.
We as players already grind in our real lives to be able to afford to play the game when we aren’t at work or otherwise involved in our daily routines.
So that is to say I agree with removing FoMo and just putting cars into the showroom. They can still offer them as rewards for completing events. But this allows those choose not to participate, or are too busy and not able to play during that window to be able to still get a car they want.
I don’t pay attention. Economy has never been a factor in any Motorsport for me and I’ve only had a day and a half off for over a decade. 4 hours a weekend not counting holidays.
What are the numbers for FM5, 6, and 7? Are they really that much different than FM23? You can do Horizon also. I know FM6 is far easier to get money, but I have almost three times the hours put into that game. FM5, and FM7 would interest me.
They pay you for any kind of driving you do whether you finish or not, so it just never was an issue for me in this game.
I’m old school, and I’m used to work to get anything. Why shouldn’t you have to work to earn credits? Why shouldn’t you have to race in a racing game to get things you want?
If you want to drive cars rather than race them, Horizon sounds like your game.
Regarding my use of the word “work”, you know as well as I do what I meant. If you want something, you work to get it. In several FM titles prior to FM5, it took forever to complete the career, but lots of people did it anyway for various reasons.
I don’t understand why people play videogames if they aren’t willing to work for the rewards.
altrough in games like forza [almost any forza] getting money is eazy so i dont mind bit of grind [or rather i dont even realize when i got enough money to get all cars, so its all about perspective, u play to get all cars, or u play to have fun racing?]
But in last nfs i played, both heat and unbound i just used cheat engine to get money, cuz game itself was not worth grind… [and grind was too long and monotony] before someone ask… nope u cant cheat money in motosport.
did 5 min free race, got 4k + 4k from vip, lets ignore vip bonus, for 5 min race u get from 4k to 6,5k [with max difficulty settings].
Most expensive car in game cost 400k, so u need 500min to buy it w/o any bonuses so, MAX 8h to get MOST expensive car in game…
i got 1550h play time, if we calculate all cars + buying cp i probably earned around 150 to 200 mln credits.
so lets say its 0.1mln/h = 1666 / min… looks quite acurate if we include vip bonus
In other modern games it would take days to get most expensive cars [like 20mln cars in horizon]
i think the main problem is that u focus too much on getting all cars, and forget about having fun using cars u currently have…
There’s so much to work on in the game if a player wants to be good. Learning tracks, physics, car mastery (spatial awareness). You can’t just hop from car to car and expect to be at the top especially if you play in cockpit. Getting more cars is just a bonus.
Edit: That’s just the way I see it. Help me out with a different perspective.
I do work to earn the cars in game; 8+ hours, 5 days a week.
So when I choose to spend my free time playing, I want to be allowed to do what choose and not have to run circles around a track just to be allowed to do the things I find fun.
So I guess that makes me unworthy of permission to play this game then.
sorry i dont understand, what u do in your free time in this game? or rather what do u want to do once u get cars u want?
I buy cars to make builds to race against my buddy in private MP.
That’s it. I want the freedom to be able to choose any car I want and mod it so I can have fun racing against my friend.
Being told I’m entitled for wanting to have fun how I choose is insulting. Again, this is a game, not a job.
Being told I should play something else also isn’t acceptable. My bestie and I both have basic sim rigs, so playing Horizon with a wheel is not fun. We also enjoy trying to best each other’s lap times, and Horizon doesn’t work for that as well. I also do not have a gaming PC, so I have to play on Xbox and FM is the only game that is tolerable. AC sucks on Xbox, and I enjoy the build process in FM which isn’t present there.
So yeah, I get irked when it is implied I’m not “playing the game correctly” because I already have a real job and want to spend my limited free time having fun rather than working for another limited currency (that isn’t even real).
well if u use your car only once… if im not wrong in private multiplayer u also earn credits?
I earned all my credids in multiplayer, so im quite confused, cant u have fun and earn credits at the same time?
