My daughter has decided she wants to start playing FH5 so I looked into it and it seems I can gift her some of my cars, I have several duplicates.
That being said, I have a two 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S. One is the regular one and one is the “Welcome Pack” version. Is there any difference between the two and is there a reason to keep both?
“Welcome Pack” versions are treated as distinct separate models from their base versions in the game, where the Welcome Pack version comes pre-upgraded to the top of its class, so there’s just a difference in stock performance. These were part of the Welcome Pack DLC, so she would need access to that DLC to use that car. Both the base Taycan and WP Taycan are available in the Autoshow, so you’d still be able to obtain them again after gifting.
Thanks for the response!
So I can gift her the non “Welcome Pack” version with no issues?
First, cool on playing together, hope you both have great fun !
I’m confused. Been playing the game since launch and am not aware of any way to gift cars to a specific individual except at Christmas and then only very limited so (purchased car of the week from Fozathon Shop iirc) and very very unreliably so (in my experience, about 1 in 4 gifts were actually delivered). If there is a way, another way, such as you suggest, I’d love to hear about it ! And if not I’m kind of surprised ManteoMax missed that.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear, my entire post is in the form of a question, I’m not sure if I can or not.
I saw a video that said you could, but that doesn’t make it a fact.
Ah, thanks for the clarification ! Maybe the video was referring to the standard Gift giving of cars ? but those only go out randomly to the community at large and can’t be directed to specific players. It’s a feature that has long been asked for but doubt we’ll ever see.
Here is the video I was talking about.
He says that you can do it but he doesn’t exactly show how to choose the friend.
Kind of confusing.
Yeah, that’s not how it works. They keep saying you can send gifts to your friends but it’s simply not true. That Gift tab option sends the car to a random player in the community at large. I suppose if he considers everyone playing Forza is a friend then yeah. He’s either confused or misleading.
There is no way to specify which player among (reportedly) millions of players gets the car you send there. It doesn’t even do a very good job of directing the gifts where you want in that menu. Many veteran players here, myself included, can attest to receiving many cars that someone tried to send to “new” players (you can tell by some of the default messages).
Like I said, the only way to send to a specific player is at Christmas. And that has limitations of how often, which cars, and buying them at the Forzathon Shop that week (all iirc). And in my experience its severely buggy and unreliable. So, save some Forza Points and you can probably try in a few months if they bring back the Christmas Gifting again.
