OR: Devs, add an option for users to reject the gift.
Or: just ignore the gift notifications; that’s where I’ve been with it for the majority of the game bc it’s a dumpster conduit for garbage that players don’t want 95% of the time.
Yes, of course that IS an option as well but there are still people out there that need other cars. The ability to simply reject or accept is the better option.

Another option would be for the Devs to create an option where you can state you don’t want to receive gifts. I do pick up most of them only to remove them from my garage directly, well most of the time. I find the number of cars I want to have duplicates if very limited.

Or simply remove the car from your garage afterwards 
Or “return a favour” and send it to someone else rightaway 
I understand where you come from, don’t get me wrong, I’m not thrilled about these gifts either, but to me it’s just not that big of a deal.
Free stuff is free stuff, in German we have this saying that you don’t check the mouth of a free horse (cause it’s free)
I gifted like 8 of these during Christmas and received one myself, now collecting them for this year.
Gifting a car pops up regularly on the Forzathon playlist, so it doesn’t surprise me when I get a notification. If it’s not one of those weeks I usually don’t collect, but if I do I always thank the sender, no matter their motive. Like the poster above, come November I start stockpiling gifts and wheelspins for the Christmas secret santa.
Just delete them from your garage. That’s what I’ve been doing.
I know but that’s not what I meant.
Like said, I mostly don’t ignore them, that’s my choice, but what I meant is for the game to have a setting to just opt-out of receiving gifts.
I think there’s a “gift another player” in next week’s forzathon daily list, so prepare for Taycangate Part Deux! 
I always collect the gifts and re-gift them. Since Xmas I have not been sent 1 Taycan, it tends to be the weeks common reward cars. Over xmas where people were mass sending gifts, I maybe received 2 or 3 so it’s not been my experience of being bombarded with them through the gifting system

So, the daily came up yesterday, not next week. I gifted a VW Golf R (“It’s all the car you’ll ever need.” © J. May) and what did I get in return? Another VW Golf R! Could be worse and had been painted a different colour, so I took it to the Test Track and fitted the Rocket Bunny widebody kit and roof strobe lights, neither of which I had previously known of, so thanks again to my donor.
I had two XPengs, went to the AH to see what they go for. There were two available one for 20M, the other one for … 132000. Did a buy out on the latter one and gifted that for the daily. So someone could have gotten a collection filler or a nice one to sale of at the AH.
