Driving on the left in a left hand drive car

O’Dear Turn 10 and Playground Games You are right in Australia they drive on the left.
So why are all the cars capable being RIGHT hand drive, LEFT Hand drive ??.
Something you overlooked ? :frowning:

Maybe because many cars built for the australian market is left hand drive even if they are built in right hand drive countries.

EDIT: Misunderstood above post. Sorry:( My acc is in moderation and I can not edit the post until after a mod approves the post.

The cars are setup as per their country of origin.
So US and European cars are left Hand Drive. Japan, UK and Australia are right hand drive.

This. It used to bug me to get so many wrong- . . . er, right-side drive cars in previous Forza games, but I’m glad they stuck to the country-of-origin rule this time around. It feels so unnatural to drive from where the passenger seat usually is. I get used to it after a while; but if I had to do it for real, shifting with my left hand, ick!

Actually some cars like the Evo 9 are LHD in game despite being Japanese.

My Z34, '17 R35, BRZ, F-Type and many other supposedly RHD-origin cars would like a word with you.

FJ40 Landcruiser (Japan) and Land Rover Defender (UK) are both LHD in game.

Yes, it is not related to country of origin. It is simply the car that Turn 10 scanned. So if they scanned a Japanese car that was made for the USA, it will be LHD for example.

Whatabout the RHD cars in FH2 that you drive with on the right? How is it suddenly different?

Exactly this.

I’ve driven in left driving lanes in many countries in left-hand drive cars. You get what they have. Difficult, yes, but being on a moped making a right-hand turn into the wrong (right) lane is more scary. Yes, I’ve done that, too.

All of the Miatas are that way also.

The Miata is an american variant of that car, no one outside US call them Miata’s thy call them MX5’s or Eunos Roadster

Because they’d have to redo the modeling for those cars in order to make them RHD. We’d have a much smaller car list if they did that.

It’s the opposite for us right hand drivers. Shifting with right hand and steering with left hand is weird. It makes more sense to always have you dominant hand on the wheel at all times.
Although it’s surprising how quickly you get used to it when switching between cars.

Sure, it makes perfect sense. It’s about what we’re used to, what we grew up with. I’d argue you need more dexterity with an H-pattern shifter than with the wheel.

And which hand steers on the controller? And if you use manual on the controller, which hand shifts?

Are there ANY driving games that use the right hand for steering for that matter?

I thought it was obvious we were talking about real cars at that point; but whatever.

It was obvious.

Doesn’t invalidate my question or my point.

I haven’t seen any comments about how the steering should be on the right stick on a controller?

Oh, sorry. I thought you were being snarky, but you really do want to know if you can do a stick swap. You’d prefer that? Some games allow remapping of controls, or have a “Southpaw” canned setup. FH doesn’t. I use Setup 2, then swap A and B in the FH games. Maybe on PC the controls are a lot more customizable. (They usually are.)

Edit: Come to think of it, you can remap controls on the Xbox controller, somewhere on the Xbox settings. It would be a system change, not a game change. I’ve never tried it, but I know it’s possible.
