So in career mode one of the most annoying races is Long Beach, you start up near the back of the field, 15 drivatars, and this is where you really notice how bad the drivatar system is. I get the reason behind them wrecking and running off road every once in awhile and I like that however it seems every single turn the drivatars that aren’t in the top 6 always either brake too late and run in the back or side of you or they brake way too early and you run into the back of them however it seem run you run into them, they keep going forward while your car bounces to the side and if they run into you, they plow through you and your car spins out. Not to mention on long beach within the first corner or two theres always a car that ends up getting flipped or spun around and then it’s just a big traffic ham and the first 4 or 5 cars are long gone. They really need to tone down the agressiveness of the AIs, if I wanted to drive with trolls I would play online.
You’re forgetting that this isn’t an AI system.
It’s drivatars, in which their movements are based of how other people actually drive. When you only have 2 laps to get from 14th place to 1st you will find it hard without pushing other cars out of the way. Which is why the drivatars are bad wreckers and brake early etc.
Drivatars are still Ai only a more advanced type of Ai and I say advanced loosely, I no longer really play F5 because of the drivatars for me they just ruin a good game.
I even once sat back on longbeach and just watched the drivatars smash themselves to bits at most every turn.
I don’t think there to aggressive I just feel they are either out of sync with the race they are in or just poorly programmed.
People say they learn from there real life counterparts but I don’t believe that to be the case fully, my friends are good clean drivers but there drivatars are smash fests.
I missed out on a gold medal because a Drivatar didn’t even bother trying to make it through the Bus Stop at Spa. I was robbed.
In another thread someone suggested turning up the drivatar difficulty to pro or above and they are much better. Also try to stay clean yourself. Once you hit someone its on. I have a full friends list of clean drivers, so was shocked to be taken out from behind. Try the difficlty level before you give up. It may save the game for you. Good luck, wish you all the best.
Free play, up the laps, up the difficulty. As Flirty said, they are pretty clean until your aren’t. As for your friends. They are obviously a little crashy in career mode too ;p
