Drivatar Skill and consitenca on different tracks

Hi there,

Something i know from former Forza games, but still the same. And yes, a lot is already written about Drivatars. I’m just an average Player, driving usually in “above average”. Liking moer lower classes, no assists but breaking line in A or S, if I use this classes). Ending up on tracks I like, using cars i prefeer, with some luck in top 5% on leaderboards.

Racing on some tracks this drivatar skill / driving style is way to high for me, hard to get trougth the pack without brute force. On other tracks i’m 1st place after 1st lap, wothout having contact to other cars, having a more or less boring race the rest of time.

I this an expeience other players have too or ist it just, that I’m too inconsidtent in skill on different Tracks. But from my point of view, just the base speed of the drivatars on different tracks, at same drivatar level, is totally inconsisten. Even more in higher classes.

I think the more turns a circuit has, the more chance you will catch up because they do not turn and brake well.

On the longer tracks, you need to get a really good start, find the areas of the track where you can take advantage. evry track has a weak spot for drivatars.

I usually catch the drivatars by getting on the inside of them on every turn. Don’t crash into the back of them, just cruise behind them until you have the space to curl in, even if you have to scrape them a tiny bit. Don’t be too proud to brake check them if they are faster on straights.

Also, be patient. I have seen drivatars make mistakes all by themself. I once got blasted by a few rogue drivers back to 24th place during the 2nd lap. I’m not sure what happened, but I was able to catch up to 5th, and right at the end, they all started making mistakes and hitting each other LOL I came in first.

Well I have just the opposite.
On the long tracks like spa I run 2 laps before I take 1th place. Tracks like yasmin seem almost impossible to get to the front of the pack.

Yes, the good thing, they make huge mistakes soetimes too  … Using other cars as a break is never a good idea. I have the feeling they do not like tracks with a good flow. Tracks with hig speed and 90 deg, sharp turns they often can do better. But even this is not so consitent.

I’ve had both experiences. Sometimes I’ll lose the entire pack within three turns on longer tracks, and then sometimes I can’t catch first or second place, Sometimes I dominate on shorter tracks, sometimes I get dominated. It seems to be mainly based on drivatars are selected to race with you, and what difficulty level you have selected. Most of the time, I race on unbeatable, and I generally have a good close race with them, but every so often, I’ll get that one drivatar that’s able to place top 50 - top 20 times, and I generally write down the gamertag and try and look them up, and lo and behold, they’re generally in the top 50- top 20 on the leaderboards.

It would seem to me that this game does quite an exceptional job at simulating the drivatars reactions, relative to the host driver. Which I kind of like seeing a it makes for a much better experience most of the time.
