Well it’s not that we moan either way. If you announce that Horizon 2 is based on the Horizon 1 engine, then people expect more or less the same then they had, with some additions. The additons were clear, new map, more open world, more cars and more events. That was clear. We knew the cars would be different then the XO cars and there would be no weather effects, no drivatars and no seamless multiplayer. That was very clear as well and even no tuning if you paid attention you would know that.
But… that they took out half of the sutff of the H1 game was not mentioned. That they would destroy certain parts of playing online was not mentioned either. We still don’t know if we will get DLC. They gave a certain impression, but that impression wasn’t totally right. They claimed nearly 500 events in total, all tailored to the cars they are in (direct quote), but that is not the case at all. The events aren’t tailored to the cars at all, it the same track you do for each class. It’s the way it was presented and the way it is delivered… the 2 don’t match up. On top of that lack of information that should have been there and still no official reviews at all.
I don’t want to moan either way, but at least I can say the release of Horizon 2 for the 360 has been anything but smooth. Let’s hope we will see some fixes and DLC, that will make a lot of players happy again
Certainly one thing I gathered throughout all the pre-release build up for Horizon 2 was that the 360 version was being kept very hush-hush. I noticed that through the repeated emphasis being placed on the Xbox One version. I can understand folks complaints about things like Online Free Roam being missing (as in my opinion that’s a rather fair game mode to expect in a title such as Horizon 2), but the things like the different car lists have been made clear enough in my opinion.
For the me the message was clear enough when Turn 10 revealed they had outsourced Horizon 2 on the 360 to another company, allowing Playground to concentrate exclusively on the One.
Seems like more than one person interpreted the repeated mentions that the car lists would be different as meaning more of the cars they personally like and less of the cars they don’t.
You people are sad. Do you really not pay attention to anything? Even though I own a Xbox One, I knew Xbox 360 version would be different. From car list, no weather, no drivatars, & no tuning. Everything that was shown was Xbox One version. Read articles on gaming sites, not just Forza site. Their articles pointed the obvious out as well. The world apperarently is chock full of them, smh.
So you did excactly know which cars where in? You must be a Sumo dev! From my point of view it is about the lack of info. We knew no drivatars, no weather, no tuning and different car list (but not which cars), you are right. But we did NOT know no online freeroam, no wheelspin, rewards, dlc, vip. And that is the main reason people are being angry. If we knew this before, some people may not bought the game. There is absolutely no official info and support for the 360 and that is bad. I see X1 users are angry because of the VIP problems they have. You HAVE VIP, you get RESPONS and SUPPORT about these problems. How would you feel if T10 let you in the dark about this?? Yep, not happy…
All of this right here. Very few people are complaining about the lack of cars of which we have plenty, and most 360 users did not expect much better graphics than Horizon 1, BUT, there has been zero transparency from Turn10 regarding support and nothing but shut downs and lame internet memes from moderators when topics are opened. Previous articles had stated that the 360 would in fact get DLC. It was not stated that options from the first game would be straight up axed in the second. We aren’t asking for everything in the XBox One version, only for the support and features that have always been here since Horizon 1. Is it wrong of me to expect the most basic of support and feature continuity between two essentially identical products? I mean correct me if I’m wrong but it’s not too much to ask.
I think the most concerning thing here is that there has been ZERO response from Turn 10 or Sumo regarding this version as in “The game is out, that’s all you need to know” and then washed their hands of it and took the money. You would hope there would be some form of support considering the game has been out two days now.
They have. I sent them an email addressing it, then tweeted them to look at it, they replied back “ok”, and that was at least a day ago and I haven’t received a reply back. Disgusting.
Exactly! It will just end in a generic “Thank you for your feedback” and a direction to send an email to the blackhole which is the general Forza complaint box.
This! If we only could have some answers and info for what is expected in the future, that would be nice. I never expected it to be like the X1 and that is fine by me. But just some info so that I know what I’m buying would be nice.
The forum was always a nice place, now it is like some (not everybody) X1 players feel superior above 360 players. Why? I don’t want to spend 600 euros just for 1 game and the 1/2 hours of game time a week. That does not make me dumb, does it?
Like we said, we just want some official info. That’s all. So let us all be nice and enjoy the game!
I had to download a patch the first day. How is that “No support”?
Also, I’m quite pleased with the game. I traded in NASCAR '14 (09 was better), NFS: The Run (physics irritated me in that game) and a couple of other games I wasn’t playing anymore and got the game for store credit - but that’s beside the point because I could have used the store credit for whatever I wanted. I was under the impression that it was going to be Horizon 1 with a slightly different car list and different map - and it pretty much is. The biggest change I can see is the adjusted AI cars to your PI (which is something I enjoy actually, because it lets me upgrade how actual race cars are and not to an arbitrary number) and the racing by class (which I’m gonna be honest, is a step UP from Horzion 1, because now I can use every car in every track OFFLINE).
My only gripes to be honest are nitpicks. I’m personally raising an eyebrow as to why they put the Renault 5 and Ford Escort in classic race when they’re notable rally cars, and how a map covering an area of Southwestern France and Northeastern Italy has omitted the principality of Monaco.
This is very simple, move on to next-generation & Xbox One if you want to continue playing Forza franchise (FH2 is better on the One). FM6 won’t be on 360 & FH3 will probably only be on Xbox One.
Or move on to PS4 if you choose. 2 yrs from now, no more new games will be released for 360 any how.
I have yet to see one single aspect of the 360 version that wasn’t delivered as promised. It was well known that the 360 version was a stripped down version of the game.
Individuals fantasy’s and pipe dreams don’t constitute a guarantee by the developer. If you bought a game sight unseen without bothering to see what it included you shouldn’t get upset if it doesn’t meet your unrealistic expectations.
Take the $50 you would spend on the 360 version and put it towards a Xbox One. This holiday season you will be able to get a Xbox One bundled with this game (and others probably) from at most $300. You are a 6th of the way to a Xbox One alone right there.
Yeah there are missing features, that’s expected, But we still have the new barnfinds, The open world and some of the latest cars like the Huracan, P1, LaFerrari. So I’m not complaining, also considering the 360 version is a lot cheaper than the One version. They did say that to think of Horizon 2 as 2 games inspired by the same concept
