I don’t think it’s people feeling triggered, i tend to think people are just over seeing threads like this pop up when there are numerous threads already created that have people disliking this or that in regards to seasonal playground games.
They already changed it from winning it to not having to anymore because of the amount of people complaining they couldn’t win because their team sucked.
As much as there are people who don’t like it, there are probably the same amount who do, and then you have the people like myself who couldn’t care less if i had to do it or not.
Personally, I generally avoid this at all costs (and the Trial if it’s off-road) as I don’t especially enjoy it. However, when I do enjoy it is when a streamer I play with at the weekends decides to do the seasonal stuff, including games…as we are all in a party chat, it makes things more enjoyable
I usually don’t play them, but I like that they exist. They’re a fun way to occasionally mix things up.
Having them on the playlist used to be a big thumbs down, but ever since it got changed to participation the experience of playing them has much improved.
Overall my rating of them is that they still need improvement before I start playing them more regularly. If they’re going to stay on the playlist in 5, keep them as they are now: optional, participation for reward, and repeat cars only. I’d MUCH rather have them on the playlist than the eliminator or super 7. Actually I could tolerate super 7. I wouldn’t like it but I could tolerate it. Eliminator on the playlist though… I’d rather go back to the playground games with the required win.
This morning I was halfway thru and the game crashed. Now that sucked. But I saw that my Nismo Sentra wasn’t keeping up with the other team’s RS7s (there just happened to be like 3 in the game and they were fast and maneuverable), so I did it again just a little while ago with a tuned RS7 (tune was simply called “playground”). We didn’t win but every round was close, it was a lot of work, a few times I was like omg another round? But it really got my competitive juices flowing (lol metaphors).
I don’t hate it, but I don’t like it either. I just don’t play it. I don’t see fh5 being much better, so most likely won’t play it there either. I just hope they don’t have server issues like they have now.
Fair enough. But then, please tell the devs to give us way more events to chose from to be able to achieve at least 80% in the festival without the “need” to do at least two online events we hate.
Until then, sorry but playground games need to go. Its the most horrible idiotic experience ive seen in a videogame.
But from what I’ve read here, people like yourself are fed up of all the threads giving this game mode a kicking which to me suggests that there is a lot of hate for this game mode.
Anyway, must dash, have an incredibly tedious weekly task to do on Forza 4, it’s like pulling teeth but at least the dentist does that quickly.
Several threads have been created and your rationale is a bit whack if you ask me.
7 to 10 thread creators are not 100 thousand plus people and these forums do not actually reflect the entire FH4 community.
As has been stated numerous times here and in other threads, if you don’t like it then don’t do it, no one forces you to do it. Just because it annoys you, and maybe a relatively small number of people, does not mean you should have the right to demand it gets booted from the game.
If the devs actually removed all aspects of the game that people gripe about from time to time then we wouldn’t have a game to play.
Once again, if you don’t like it, don’t play it. There is never an exclusive car as reward anyway so your not being forced to play for an exclusive. If it’s Festival completion then all i have to say is get over it already. Festival does not go toward stats and therefore it is irrelevant whether you complete the season festival or not.
Oh and lets not forget that PG Games have already tried to assuage the whingers by allowing whatever prize is there to be won for losing. I don’t think you will find a lot of games that do that unless they are designed for the kindergarten demographic.
I will say this quite frankly, if aspects of this game annoy you and others so much, then it’s time to go play another game and give up playing FH4. Primarily so your feelings of annoyance are not triggered and you have to come here and vent.
Well, seasonal playground games are okay if the other team drops out, it completes it instantly.
But to be truthful it is a real pain when I seem to get in with a team who doesn’t know how to play some modes, such as the King.
Another problem is when you have to rely other players to win.
It gets old pretty quickly when you are doing well and half of your team either gets lost on the off-road track or disconnect, making scoring points in next rounds nearly impossible.
Erm, thats not why people hate pg games… i think some of you are completely lost. Also, having a small team doesnt mean you are going to lose. Ive won many times with an inferior team.
People (at least experienced players) hate pg games because the design is awful, the combination of cars/play zones is just idiotic most of the times, people get tired of trying to chase others in a sport car in the mudkickers playground… or trying to get flags and not being able to because they hit you in the moment you pick the flag. (honestly this doesnt bother me, but again its a terrible flaw of design), or because the event should have a way to balance teams if someone leaves (meaning, for example others can join), etc, etc. Many reasons that, after a couple of years, makes this event really really really annoying. The fact is that out of the playlist, i dont think anyone plays it…
The people who enjoy them are few and far between. They said on stream it was popular without realizing the large number of matches came from people who quit and searched another game due to losing the first round. The truth is, maybe 99% of people don’t care about it.
I suspect its return in FH5, along with the Eliminator’s, has more to do with Microsoft forcing studios to add “family friendly” and “casual” stuff to the games, since Mike Brown was the guy behind DriveClub and never struck me as someone up to the same antics as Ralph Fulton, who’s now happy directing Fable (hopefully forever).
