It’s the worst thing about the game by an absolute mile. The game isn’t built right for it, it’s frustrating, dull, boring and it takes a 10/10 game to a 7/10 game. I’ve never seen a game mode drag a game down as much. I know you don’t HAVE to do it currently but for those like me who want to do everything and do it with a win, it’s just the ultimate drag.
I hate it when I get stuck with an unsuitable car or tune, but when I luck out and pick the right car it’s a lot of fun. Same with the Trial. In fact I have a much more difficult time getting the right car and tune in place for the Trial.
same… the only mode I don’t do. I think I only did it 4-5 times when I wanted achievement for perfect series completion. Otherwise it’s a skip from me. But I guess some people like it as there’re still players. At least it let’s you complete it even when you lose
I don’t hate Playground Games, but it is an easy, guaranteed way to win a car each week, especially if it’s one you don’t have and the points towards the Forzathon total help as I’m not a great fan of the 3 Season Event races. The best aspect of P.G.s is the guaranteed win even if you’re lumped with a bunch of ramtastic noobs and lose.
If the Season Events weren’t set to ‘Highly Skilled’ to win the car then it’d make me acheiving 100% each week so much easier.
Like a lot of things it’s fun to do well in and not enjoyable when losing. This week so far I have found the Audi RS7 and Lexus IS F to be entertaining to use with awd and dirt tires. Mudkickers is easier to handle if you use the mini map to stay on the trails while you learn it.
Disagree. I usually win each week and hate every minute of it. It takes absolutely forever. Connecting, fast traveling, and all that other nonsense goes on forever. Half the time by the time it starts a few people have given up and aren’t even looking at the screen. Usually the last half has one team completely giving up and just waiting around for it to end because everyone wins the car anyway. It’s boring and pointless and takes forever.
Does anyone else hate reading threads asking if anyone else hates the Seasonal Playground Games? Tomorrow I’m sure it’ll be ‘Why Playground Make Us Do Cross Country?’ Day after that it’ll shift to playlist hate and AWD=Unfair before circling back to the forced labor playground game.
Seasonal games are actually not the worst thing about this game, rather it’s the anal retentive OCDers that insist on chasing after perfect completion percentages that yield no laurels as playlist completion percentages are not outwardly displayed, thus only the players themselves will know whether they finished a particular series out at 100% or 98%… And not only does this literally have zero impact on anything whatsoever, but they don’t even have to subject themselves to the supposedly traumatic horror of simpleton pastimes like “Tag, You’re It!” and “King of the Mountain” with some goal scoring to even satisfy the 50% goal. But we’re still gonna hear allll about it, how they just hate this thing they don’t even have to do but choose to for whatever disorder sake reason and then bring their self-importance here and create all these one-up threads to rally ‘support’ for their pet grievance when all they needed to do was perform just a cursory overview of the simplest of searches to find an Encyclopedia Brittanica’s worth of boo-hoo’s and sniveling.
So, to answer the op’s question, No, you are not alone; there are many others suffering from AT/OCD who this same little thing you’re doing now. THAT, is actually the ultimate drag.
Disorders? Attention seeking? I never asked you to post nor was I attention seeking.
Lot’s of people feeling triggered here.
I will hold my hands up to being one of the “anal retentive” types who like to get 100% completion however. Doesn’t take away from the fact that I think this game mode is an utter mess and way out of step with quality of the rest of the game.
In all fairness, the OCD bit wasn’t really meant for you, rather that was more for several specific forever-malcontents with Rainman playground game tics; I’m sure they’ll show up sooner or later as they tend to not let an opportunity to crow go to waste. But hey, if the shoe fits…
But then again, in all fairness on the attention seeking, yeah you kinda were. I guess you forgot about posting essentially the same song and dance in the big mommy Please Remove Playground Games thread where you got quite a bit of pushback. So naturally, you decide to revisit this again a few weeks later but in your own standalone thread because sure why not one more log on the forum fire for 'ol timessake?
For what it’s worth, I would recommend trying Horizon 3’s playground games (if even possible); they were all xp based solo championships where you could come and go as you like with no need to worry about carrying or relying upon other randoms and/or the state of their internet connection for success. It’s quite a good time structured that way. Then you might have a better perspective of what about it actually needs fixing rather than bluster-bustering.
I’d happily start 1000 threads saying how bad this game mode is.
Would you care to explain this comment a little more as I’m concerned: “forever-malcontents with Rainman playground game tics”
I’m concerned you are referring to Rain Man, a film about someone on the autism spectrum with Savant syndrome, both very serious disabilities. This is the second time you have displayed a discriminatory attitude toward those who are non-neurotypical, something which is actually a hate crime.
Oh now you’d like explanations to distract from all the prior pushback? Okay, sure. A forever malcontent is someone who is forever being a malcontent, pretty self explanatory. Rainman was supposed to be sandman, typo. I’ve never seen Rain Man, but autism and savant syndrome has nothing to do with ocd. But nice try.
What does “sandman” mean? That’s a new term to me.,
As for there being no connection between OCD and Autism, there are MASSIVE overlaps that are medically agreed on. I’m sure you knew that with your medical degree though. Either that our you were trying to divert from your comments. Anyway, I’m listening and ready to learn all about this widely used term “sandman”, which you for some reason gave a capital to, like you were giving the name of a film or something…
Edit : You mention “tics” while mentioning Rainman/sandman…really looking forward to learning about “sandman” now and the tics associated.
