Do you want Rally tracks in Forza?

I fully agree with part your post, in that the car rosters need to be differentiated. I can’t stand seeing gt3 and classic race cars in horizon 3. I know it’s a wonky idea and some people like it, it just DOES NOT MAKE SENSE . And same with forza motorsport having SUVs, a limo, vans…it DOES NOT FIT THE THEME OF MOTORSPORT! I dont mind too much if they throw in econo box cars or normal family cars like Kia forte, dodge dart, etc but keep the offroaders and SUVs and weird vehicles for horizon while still keeping a healthy dose of road cars too and road cars, track cars and race cars for forza motorsport. I really wish I was working for the content part of the company because I would surely make this move.

Horizon is an arcade version of offroad. Forza would be more on the sim side of things. ACTUAL rally.

I’m not a big rally fan, but the more variety in a game the better. doesn’t mean I have to do it. heck online gaming has been an option for over a decade and I still don’t play online lol

It would make sense considering 1/3 of the vehicles are rally or off road. Never understood why rally wasn’t part of the game like it is in GT.

Or i’d prefer to get rid of the 1/3 of the vehicles that do not belong?

Nope, not at all.
Forza Motorsport is not a Rally Game.
If they want to do rally, they should start a brand new"Forza Rally", because imho it’s out of place in Motorsport.

You actually think this is a serious motorsports game? This game doesn’t even have qualifying, Forza has always been a melting pot of different disciplines and car cultures; Rally cross is no more out of place than Nascar or F1.

If you notice, the game isn’t called “Forza Track Racing Only”, it’s actually titled “Forza Motorsport”.

It would make sense for them to encompass a variety of disciplines of motorsport, and actually try something new for once.

Okay, so following this line of thinking, what about motorcycles? At least the assets are in the game for them to ride on, hell, Mugello and Suzuka are both better known as bike tracks than for car racing. Of course, you’d need a completely reworked set of physics to actually make that work, which is tough. Or ATV’s and snowmobiles? Or monster trucks? Or power boat and airplane racing? All of them are motorsports, of course they’d all need specialized environments and physics, and you couldn’t use them anywhere else in game, and your existing in game assets wouldn’t work in your new environment. You couldn’t use an open-wheeler or GT car any more on an airplane or snowmobile course than a proper rally stage, unless you want everything to be a cartoon circus like Horizon is. I would LOVE a complete game, with semi-realistic but approachable physics, including damage (Such as flat tires! Big thing off road!), several locations around the globe encompassing several disciplines including various point to point and circuit courses with sand, mud, gravel and tarmac, and of course lots of vehicles including rally new and old, Dakar and Baja stuff, and whatever else they can throw in. Not a half-done expansion with some vehicles that don’t work real well with the existing physics, and one or two environments that don’t work with anything else in game.

I think something like Super Stages are a perfect fit for Forza. Normal Rallye I agree, Forza is all about direct competition. Having cars race on their own is not a good addition. It’s an extension of Rivals. But as a whole I think Drag is the stupidest thing we have and any Rallye addition can’t be worse than that.

Many, including myself, felt the same way about Hot Wheels within Horizon, but here we are.

Rally is a form of motorsport, so in fact, it belongs.

And with that said, I say yes, I want it.

Absolutely yes. Crate one environment. One loop is for rallicross, one loop is for buggies and super trucks, the third is a longer loop, designed more for rally cars. Give it rain, night, day, and if possible, snow and ice.

If there is no environment for these vehicles, rallicross, rally, off roaders, AWD, 4WD, buggies, and trucks, I see no need for their inclusion in the game.

Dirt Rally/Dirt4 have Pikes Peak. A paved and dirt version of that would be perfect, as would European hillclimbs.

Please no.

I love rally racing, but Turn 10 already has so much stuff to fix/work on just for road racing that we really don’t need them half-assing rally racing too. We don’t even have enough road courses and road racing features now, and dividing up their attention would basically ensure that the road racing side of things would continue to fall even further behind, and it’s already behind some games on the original Xbox. Meanwhile, the attempt at rally racing would most likely fall behind current rally titles anyways, so they would just be diluting their product.

Preferably, they would be working on improving their rally experience through the next Horizon game working with Playground Games, while they would actually (finally) improve the racing aspects for FM8. Then, in FM9 or 10 they could add the rally stuff into the Motorsport series after they get both types of racing polished.

Of course, it’s probably exactly what they will do… Whatever, at least it’d be better than that Hot Wheels garbage from FH3…

Yes.

Real and fantasy rally courses would be awesome to expand the Motorsport part of this game.

Exactly. I would hope we can start off with an expansion then they expand it little by little with each game. Rally is a form of auto motorsport as some people seem to be downplaying it like it’s an ugly step child. It’s bad enough T10 keeps dipping us in and out of drag racing why not encompass as many disciplines as possible going forward. Circuit, endurance, point to point, drift, drag, rallycross, hill climb etc…

I’d fully support tarmac rally/point-to-point stages. Spectre 341, paved Pike’s Peak, even a return of the old shipyards thing from FM1.

Have you been playing the DIRT games over the years? They try the "do a bunch of ***" route and it ends up making the game very short on content for each discipline. Yeah it’s got stadium trucks! So cool! Until you realize there are like 3 tracks in 2 environments and you are already bored with them after a week. They can’t even put enough rally stage miles in the games to be difficult to remember. The rallycross circuits in the previous games were mostly just variants of the same 3 locations.

Sure, the advertising of “look at all this crap you can do!” would help sell the game to casuals, but it would be pretty much the same thing that we get with other racing games that have tried the same thing. Even with the somewhat small track list, the Forza games have fairly populated multiplayer right up to the release of the next game. Those games like DIRT that try to do all that stuff? Pretty much dead after 6 months because everyone has already driven everything a thousand times.

*Yes I know DIRT 4 has improved a bit by adding real 6 or so Rallycross circuits and their random stage generator things, but the point stands about the previous titles.

If not rally then definitely hill climb I mean why not. Bring back the suzuki pikes peak and a host of other hill climb cars.
