I like it in Visual mode, personally. The RT rarely has some flickering, but it looks great otherwise.
100% agree. Game looks SO much better when just in performance mode. Can’t even tell the is no ray tracing.
The interior looks better -with- RT turned on?? Man I hope not, cause I’ve been playing with Performance RT since launch and I think the interiors look flat, fake and downright cheap in most cars. I can’t imagine it becomes worse by turning off RT, if so, we’re back on Xbox 360 levels of detail.
Just go back to FM 7. You will find that details in the cars’ visuals and audio is almost entirely better than FM 23’ in almost every way.
Let’s not forget all of the graphical glitches you get on your car while playing in RT mode.
Does this still apply? We are on update 6. Does it do difference in any scenario like rain or not ? Will it be more beautiful in performance RT at rainy weather or performance only?
Still looks better in standard performance mode for me.
On my high end PC, I also play with RT off. Much more consistent visuals and saves a tonne of power and heat
Hello is it still the performance mode better than performance rt ? I play on series x but in performance rt mode it is so blurry that i cant play. Is for everyone like this?
Yes. Performance RT is absolutely useless and shouldn’t have been an option for gameplay on Series X. Resolution is abysmal (especially in cockpit view where it’s often dipping below 1080P hitting 940p before upscaling) & RTAO (like RT reflections) is a noisy mess being updated below 30fps while everything else is @ 60fps which makes the whole motion look off.
The only downside of performance mode is that Turn10 apparently forgot that SSAO/GTAO/HBAO ever existed because many of the cars cockpits looks absolutely horrendous with no ambiante shadowing in overcast lighting.
For this reason, cockpit view is unplayable for me. And watching myself drive a car from the third person view is silly. Motorsport is a nightmare on the XBOX. That’s why I switched to the PS5. The Sony guys manage to generate a sharp and at the same time well-lit scene.
It’s entirely depended on the car. Some are fine while others are not. The 2014 SRT Dodge Viper GTS-R is perfectly fine (one would say even a bit too dark) but others are simply totally missing the AO map! Even new cars released last month (the GT3 BMW reward car for example). No one at Turn10 even cares or actually bothers to play/launch the the game. Same ToD & exact location:
The Viper
The new BMW M4 GT3
