Direct Drive wheels

Hey Guys!

So I am thinking about upgrading into a direct drive wheel. I have returned 3 TM TX due to faults over the last couple of years. I have used the 458 rubber band wheel and am currently using a TMX which is OK but janky in a straight line. I want a better experience.

Currently I am seeing Fanatec Forza Motorsport wheel bundle, the Accuforce V2, a new offering from Ricmotech and I know of the TM TX-XW coming up.

Does anyone have experience with these?

Are they worth the money?

Thanks!

Unless Turn10 fix the FFB properly, a direct drive wheel would be wasted on just FM.

If you were going to play other sims on pc where you can use the associated software with them, then its ultimately worth it more than any other wheel… No other wheel will give the detailed nuances and responsiveness that direct drive wheels can.

Also check out the OSW wheels that you can build yourself, generally cheaper than buying. Depends how disposable your income is.

Just remember to let go so you dont break your wrist/arm.

NB:

Fanatecs are belt driven, not direct drive.
TM TS-XW is belt driven.
The new T-GT which was meant to be a direct drive appears to now be belt driven too:
