They are having a big sale at BBY and I was thinking of getting this wheel, curious from owners if you are satisfied with it. Can you play on your lap or do you need a sturdy table? Any major issues? Thank you
No help here but I have the TMX Pro Limited Edition from Gamestop but wife wont let me have it till Christmas lol. Also have a Openwheeler Racing Sim cockpit for it.
I have the TMX and enjoy it very much. I however can’t compare it to any other ffb as it’s my first.
It would have to be table mounted.
Gamestop has a bundle that includes the T3PA pedals. I would recommend that because the pedals are metal have the clutch. I got this last christmas & I’ve had no issues with it. The shift paddles are metal & feel great to use, The force feedback gives a more realistic feel to driving, & Thrustmaster also has drivers to change the settings for the wheel.
I have been using a TMX for a week now. It is my first wheel so I do not have anything to compare it with, but so far I am really enjoying it. You are going to need a table or a wheel stand, the lap is not an option that I am aware of.
I have the TMX with the 2 pedal set. I have a GT Omega wheel stand for it and that is the way to go in my opinion. Very solid. Its not a “play on the lap” type of thing in my opinion. You could hook it to a tray table if you wanted to save from buying a wheel stand. It will move around though and the pedals will slide unless secured in some fashion.
Coming from playing with a controler from FM2-FM6, I say the wheel is the way better option for FM5 and on. I personally lost interest in Forza after feeling like it was not playable with a controler after FM4. Once they went to the Xbox One it really felt like the game was intended to be only played with a wheel. To each their own though. I actually enjoy playing again.
The TMX doesn’t compare to the multi-thousand dollar iRacing rig I have, but I didn’t get it expecting that. If you go into it thinking you will have the power and smoothness of a direct drive servo wheel, then you’ll be very disappointed. I would say it is good value for the money. Mine was $150 new a few months ago. I would recommend it to anybody trying to have a good time with Forza Motorsports. I like a controler more for Forza Horizon though, just saying.
I have that wheel. Used it with stock pedals for nearly a year. Good wheel. I’ve since upgraded to the T3PA pedals but that’s mainly because it benefits me in other games like Project Cars more than for Forza. Forza is a bit light on the feedback on this wheel but good enough. Hence, if you find it having weaker feedback than you would like don’t blame the wheel as it’s capable of much more than what Forza does with it.
Awesome great feedback thanks
I second upgrading the pedals. I bought the T3PA-Pro pedals and love them.
