There was a trainer/mod/cheat available from week 1 that allowed for flying cars, speed hack, absurd speed(2-3k speeds on leader boards), infinite XP, infinite cash, teleport anywhere including outside the map’s barriers and the ability to revert everything.
It has been reported to T10 but it doesn’t mean it’s going to be fixed/patched any time soon given this has been an issue since FH2.
I’m sure all those leaderboard scores in a C class car doing 2,000mph in a speed trap was just lag… lmao
Love how people here are blissfully ignorant to the cheating problem that has existed since FH2.
As long as PG/Microsoft do nothing against ridiculous leaderboard rankings/numbers, like 15.000 meters jumps all that leaderboards are useless…completely useless. i dont know why PG/Ms dont delete/remove that cheating idiots or at least their fake rankings!

It is but on a way lesser scale. PC always was and always will be the stronger infected plattform because the enabling openness is the PC’s nature.
That’s why cross-play needs more thought put into.
With experience it’s easy to separate between lag issues and cheating.
Especially when you know what a car in a specific class can do and what not - to cover the more subtle cheats like speed boosts.
*I just want to add that the instances of cheating I’ve personally witnessed and refer to were not simply times where I got smoked by RWD or outmaneuvered totally schooled by FWD (believe me, I know all too well what that all looks like ), and that more often than not it was grossly, blatantly obvious and accompanied by shameless attitudes and behaviors. They tend to enjoy the showing off, if you get what I mean.
I’d not heard of any cheating by way of hacking consoles; I can’t even imagine how that would even be possible, but I suppose I’m not really surprised to hear otherwise. Seems to me that going that route would be too much work for seemingly too little gain, but, who knows why people do such things or what motivates them. I can only say that instances where hacking or cheating were suspected, a quick look at the profile of the player in question would reveal they were playing via pc, almost every single time, for whatever that’s worth. That said, I’ve great reverence, respect for whatever Rayne and Tilo say and happily defer to their better judgement here.
Same page. Hacking from xbox is hardly happening and when it does it is often based on hacks done on PC. Opening doors to PC requires to put heavy effort on managing hacking which they don’t want to do, they want more money but not the problems that come with. That’s why they do the minimum and they do it late.
In my experience, all the “cheating” I’ve seen on console in this series involved exploits. But then again, I’ve only played the game for a rational amount of time. Maybe things look different when you play so much that space-time folds around you. I hope to never know the madness of dream races through unknown Kadath.
On consoles it’s mostly with the help of external PC tools or exploits that look like hacks/cheats.
There was an exploit back in the day that allowed cars to mimic the PI of another. When we recreated it for “science” I was driving a new GT 2 RS (which had a PI of 900) as an A800 car in an A800 lobby.
For others this surely looked like cheating although it was a console-only exploit.
The majority happens on PC which affects all through cross-play.
If anyone needs evidence of cheating, they just need to look at the leaderboards for speed zones and danger signs, in both Horizon 3 and 4. There are some absurdly short times and long jumps in both games. Also, speed traps with space ship speeds recorded, and point-to-point distances of several miles completed in a second! Personally, I don’t have the skills to get near the top but I’m sure those who do must be annoyed.
Not in all cases and this due to FH bug, for a long time, after several rewinds to do a jump for instance, it could happen that you go underground and, since not touching the ground, the counter was not stopped. When finally the game was resetting position of the car, jump was a success and voilà. I quite sure this has been fixed but as usual, they did not clean the mess.
Of course it doesn’t explain all the cases, just for saying that in some cases you could find yourself with a stupid score while you weren’t actively doing any kind of hacking or exploit.
I would think it would be easy to figure out what are reasonably obtainable times and distances, and then delete all results that are not reasonable. This could probably be set to be a recurring task.
Yeah, they wrote the code for the game—it shouldn’t be that hard to know roughly how fast each car can be around each track, at least within a couple percent, and then give some benefit of the doubt around that, or require replays to be uploaded for leaderboard times. At least check top speed, top acceleration, and max lateral g’s.
I actually like the racing in Horizon, sometimes seems like they’d almost rather not have racing, though.
I’ve been a leaderboard chaser for a long time, and it’s really disheartening to see the top times being 1.5 minutes faster than some of the best of the racers out there, I hope FH5 really cracks down on this.
Welp, …judging by what I’ve already seen of the leaderboards from the one single event I’ve been testing tunes on all last night, and the fact that I’ve already sent two tickets to Support this morning for a 767 pi C600 player and another 100pi stock at #1, these issues will be continuing throughout H5 for sure. Game hasn’t even hit full launch yet and already those loser trash pc’ers are trying to violate every orafice this game has.
I saw a notorious thief in the creative hub of some cars.
A habitual thief who abuses past Forza glitches to share stolen livery and is repeatedly permanently banned each time.
Hey PG & T10, why do these thieves get off scot-free every time a new Forza is released?
Stealing a livery and sharing it is impossible without doing it intentionally, not by “unfortunate chance”, right?
We painters have been fighting against them for more than 10 years.
In a ordinary online game, someone who has been cheating for 10 years would have their entire account banned.
However, this is not the case in Forza. They are welcomed when new titles are released, then they do the same thing over and over again. There is no remorse. It’s as if PG, T10, and MS are complicit in their actions.
We have taken evidence of these thieves over and over again and sent tickets along with a list of their victims.
But that will only get us a few years of peace at best.
I’m sure you support staff are sick and tired of receiving the same old tickets, aren’t you? It’s about time they were permanently banned from the beginning.
