I know the feeling! I’d been stuck at 1:30.1 for weeks. Could not break into 1:29 and then finally yesterday on lap 17 I laid down a 1:29.02. For me it was just a matter of keeping my speed up in the turns. All those fractions of a second lost really add up.
Thats not the question the question is will Phil put in a last minute lap time just befor Midnight or has he hung up his racing hat and is not going to post another time. That is the Question
Well that is out of reach. I spilled milk on my elite controller now she no work and can’t touch that time with my broken forza 6 controller. I must have angered the forza gods by not pre-ordering.
1:34 is relativly easy without assisted braking. Maybe it can be done with it too. When I gave up AB I did 1:35. Either way even if I win or not the 599 it was my first challenge, went from assissted braking to ABS ON. I reached 1:32.9 , I could had a 1.32 low, maybe 1.31 but I ended up on the grass. It definetly made me improve my Forza skills so it was a nice event and the Porsche drives nice.
I ran assisted brakes, 1:33.183, I’d imagine mid 1:32 is attainable with assists. Just hard to put a perfect complete lap together. I ended up with that time being about .5 faster than my previous best because I nailed the final 5 turns, something I’d been struggling to do, it’s what put me in front of the ghost I’d been chasing. I know it could be faster but my start of that lap wasn’t the best. For those looking for just a little more, it’s important to get a good flow around the last turn, it sets up your next lap with a faster straight away speed heading to turn one. If you botch the final turn, sliding, your next lap is screwed.
The 1:34 is a relatively easy time or it was for me and the assists I use. I turned a lap of 1:33.005 with stability and traction control on. I also had ABS on and a manual transmission with clutch. I think I did about 10 laps to get to this time, definitely less than 15. I know I could pick up the time if I turned off traction and stability control.
The question is if I want to improve my time. I would hate to set 1.31 and then find out Phil turned a 1:30.9 in the last few minutes. I don’t want to put in a lot of effort just to be beaten in the last few minutes. I’d rather stick with my time and let the chips fall where they may. I wished Phil would have posted a time and then given us a few days to beat it.
Assuming he doesn’t improve his time. I have not seen anything official about his current time being set in stone. He may very well improve his time in the last hour like Dan did. Highly unlikely though, as that would be fairly late at night. Either way I am sure the forums will pay for him not having declared a final lap time with a few days for everyone to beat it. T minus 29 hours and counting left!
