This is just something that’s bugged me. It seems like even when I’ve set the race to a daytime race, I’m still driving in the dark. Most races take place when the sun is low, or when there’s heavy overcast weather. Yes, sunrise and sunset offer the opportunity dramatic scenes, but they’re lousy times for driving. Even Laguna Seca seems dark! Would it be too much to ask for a sunny afternoon? Maybe it’s just because I’m Canadian, and at this time of year, I always seem to be in the dark, but it doesn’t encourage me to play this game.
How I wish we had the different options for time of day and weather like we had on forza horizon 3. Now that game had REAL dynamic weather, not a pseudo dynamic weather and time of day with change linked to race progression.
They let you adjust the weather for tracks when it’s set to “wet” in free play. They need to do the same for the “day” races and have morning, afternoon and evening as options. Should be a simple fix you would think.
If they would take the weather system from Horizon 3 and the blueprint system Freeplay would be eppic and I would no longer be driving in to the sun blinded by the light or trying to see wher the track has gone with the sun blocked out by clouds Midday guys give us midday and no clouds.
I agree C Hero, the lighting definitely needs rebalancing. While I appreciate the improved lighting over FM5 and 6, I feel the game is not displaying blacks, greys and white as it should. Oh well, can’t have it all.
Going by this logic, H3 should also look dark, but it doesn’t - it was made to take advantage of HDR, no?
Yes that HDR feeling for people who don’t have HDR TVs. I guess the excuse is frame rate with the dynamic weather. Toggle switches. Toggle switches. It’s not that difficult. Dark days I end up racing with the line on so I can see the track because your car has no working headlights.
It’s obvious the game is just a graphics showcase for 4K blah, blah, blah. Everything else was just phoned in. I saw a rainbow at dawn, at Le mans, but it wasn’t raining. Go figure.
