Thinking about getting an Xbox One but I’ll be using it offline. Wondering if the Day One edition is any different from the regular version. Also curious about the standard Forza Horizon 2 - has it been updated or is it still the same game? Hoping to avoid any issues like the R34 sound problem.

If you install the game from a disc you will probably automatically download something from the store. When I installed FM4 on my 360 S last year it also downloaded something over the internet even though the services are down.
If you never connect the Xbox to the internet that will not happen. The day one edition is the most original version, because that version was made before release, so you can be pretty sure that you get a non updated game when you get the day one edition, as long as you’re not connected to the internet. I don’t know if that works the same with later physical versions of the game.
You will therefore also not get the annoying offroad transmission in the upgrade menu which you can only use if you have storm island and also you will not be shown any of the post release added cars that are payed dlc.
PS. please don’t buy a Xbox One, that’s a genuinely bad console, instead go for the One X, those are much more reliable → less stuttering, less crashes, and no overheating. The One X is only a little more expensive but pays off in so many ways especially loading times!
Yeah, I know it has to download the latest update. I am just wondering if the next release did have the Storm Island DLC, if I put D1E in my One (or maybe One X) and then once it installs I put a regular disc, will it update or what?

No, the Storm Island DLC must be downloaded from the store, which is not possible anymore.
Oh yeah, I forgot and also my Xbox will be offline so regardless I’ll have to connect it again even if I did own it. Sorry, I didn’t mean to put it in there like that, or even at all, I meant it showing up in the menu in my mind, not it working. meant to ask if the regular disc will update the D1E copy - since discs are installed to the console.
Anyone know if putting D1E and updating with a regular disc works?
