The Ford GT 350R '16 will likely be strong for some tracks with it’s high handling stats even on Sport tyres although it’s not unbeatable.

1st Race at Kayalami

So far, I’ve run the BMW M3 E92, the Ford GT-350R, & the Ford Dark Horse in these races, all on their widest sport tires.
(I haven’t tested whether or not race tires will last through these ~20-minute races without pitting).

All 3 of these cars were good enough for me to get 1st & 2nd place finishes (although I wasn’t up against any super-quick drivers).

Only tried the '08 BMW M3 and 350R so far.

The speed and acceleration stats on my build betray just how quick the 350R is.

But yes the lobbies aren’t exactly full at the moment.

My 2016 Ford Shelby GT-350R A700, Sport tyre build/tune.

Feel free to use it, change it and/or share it as your own. You still have to drive it!

No centrifugal supercharger?

No. I wanted to keep it lighter for now.

Sacrificed 38hp for around 200lb less weight.

Haven’t done a direct comparison though.

1.26.381 - Road Atlanta full. GT 350R - SCS

1.26.263 - Road Atlanta full. GT 350R - NA (with the upgrades posted earlier) (both tested on Sports in Rivals)

There’s barely anything in it. If you want a bit extra speed use the CSC if you want slightly better handling use the build posted. YMMV.

In other news the 2018 Saleen S302 Black Label is decent mainly for speed tracks.

The 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is poor. (drives ok just slow)

The 2008 BMW M3 is ok, not quite as good as the Saleen.

Cheers

6.6 rear toe?

Those numbers are all fairly close to my base, with some slight tweaks (incl 0 toe on all builds)

Lol. Was 6.6 castor but changed it to 7.0 but the settings got duplicated for some unknown reason.

Couple of race times for comparison.

P1 used a race tyre/pit strategy I think.

The M3 was the fastest car I have round here. I struggle with consistency at Bathurst. Esp the 2 fast lefts at the top of the hill.

I crossed the line in 3rd but P2 had pens.

I know it’s subjective/preference, but I’m just not enjoying the feel of these modern sport touring cars anywhere near as much as I enjoyed the previous modern hot hatches in this series. I miss those little hatches already.

Same.

I spent an evening in what turned out to be the last day prepping and painting a Golf R '14 to race in the hot hatches. I really should pay attention to the featured event announcements!

Still, the modern Sport Touring is what we have so that’s that. It’s still fun, but not as fun, for some reason. Probably the size/weight of these boats!

Did some lobbies and agree. With the 350R and E92 M3 included it feels too similar to normal A-class lobbies. Many players pick these two and they are absolutely dominant.

Last week had the Clio at the top but I could mostly keep up with any car. This week no chance. Tried a Jaguar XKR-S GT and it was pointless.

After tinkering more with my Dark Horse tune, I enjoy driving it more.
It’s been a solid all-arounder for me so far at various tracks.
Its (widened) stock/sport tires last through ~20-minute races (at 4x wear) without any pit stops.

(I’ve also shared this tune in-game.)

I’m a controller/gamepad player who doesn’t get along well with twitchy or tail-happy cars, so this tune might feel more stable/“on-rails” than some prefer.

If you want more power oversteer from it, raising rear roll center and/or anti-squat would be quick-&-easy adjustments to wag the tail more.

@Operator1 Gave your Dark Horse a run out. Very happy with it.

Here’s how it went at Hakone. Good to see some new, level 1 players on the grid.

I wish I could get into more completive lobby… All my races end up on me racing alone and then W8 30-40s to allow more players to finish race… (u need to cross finish line to unlock fomo cars)

BTW i use sport rear wing with wide body and stock rims.

Agree about the competition or lack thereof. I think many players are just doing the 10 for the reward cars.

P2 had to pit for tyres. I thought they were unusually quick.
