Tips on how to make tune for OPEN MULTI-CLASS races

Multi-class series is great addition to open events, tho becouse of rivals soft meta lot of players struggle on race tyres becouse they need to pit or drive with grip penalty [hard tyres] to finish race. Thats why im posting easy guide how u can tune your car to medium lenght races.

CAUTION!!!
Becouse of we want to do races w/o pit, u are forced to u use mostly Street tyres or atleast sport tyres, so grip is quite limited.

Step 1: [if PI allows]
Swap in op engine
RWD swap any AWD car
Swap in Centerfigural supercharger

Step 2:
-Install Race transmision, race diff
-If someone rly needs then go and install this ugly forza aero
-Install Street [if needed sport] tyres
-Max width it [tho use same cp cost on front and rear if possible]
-Put in as much weight reduction as possible
-Always use SPORT/RACE brakes and suspension.
-upgrade ARB and REINFORCEMENT to same level as tyres [so street if u use street tyres, sport if u use sport tyres]
-And then install some power upgrades to meet pi target

Step 3 [fine tunning]
-Start with RESETING TUNING SETTINGS in tunning menu to be sure tyre pressure is setup correctly
-Fine tune gearing
-Fine tune braking balance to reduce high speed braking distance to min
-Use 100/0 diff
-Right theres also this ugly aero  Just min/min or max/max it depending on track

One more thing, if car have wide body avaliable [with adjustable front downforce] and it dont have its own adjustable race wing, but sport/street one, use it instead and default front downforce value, using forza race wing with this wide body will make your car understeer 4F

And u are done

Oh here i finished ahead of S class car with b class miata on street tyres

Thanks. Can i PM you questions about a tune im working on?

well i can, tho my tunes are more about driving experiance than strictly going as fast as possible.

I’d personally always go with sports and depending on the track max width Almost always add rear aero as it gives you more PI to add power and always upgrade springs and dampers as well as trans and diff like you say. Also sometimes it’s a good idea to change rim style and sizes for some power, finally once finished, see if you can add a driveline. Often there’s room in the PI to add this as it’s less than a point.

well true, but car looks like 5hi7 XD

Tho tbh, car w/o aero are as fast as full aero car as long as u have enough overall grip, so theres no point in going full wide body race tyre in c class miata

i like purist car look

Yup there’s some ugly very fast cars out there that’s for sure. I meant max width available not necessity going for body kit, though they can work sometimes

oh i got some tune slots avaliable so i will just share tunes i use  [self promo]

or you just use the normal tune you would use and drive it as you normally do, on short races, but pit when everyone else in your division does.

not sure how some different class cars being on the track, is going to change anything.

so you are telling people who are low skill leveled, because they might be new, to do no stop races.
every time ive seen someone try this, they have failed, and a no stop really only works on laguna, and Yas, because there pits are the longest in the game.

i think this was more of a “look at me, I’m Awesome” post, than a post to help people.

there are plenty of places that have tuning guides, (youtube)
and places that give out builds and tunes for cars, done by people who know what they are doing.
ForzaVerse on discord is one such place, that has lots of open tunes for cars of all class.

on street tyres u hit max 40% tyre wear lol

maybe in c class driving a lightweight mx5, but if im driving a S class muscle car on street tires, im not making it a full race on sport tires.

If u cant finish race on no pit sport tyres, u also cant finish race on 2x medium tyres, and becouse pi calculations are based on medium tyres, u would be lof faster going 2x sport than 2x hard

but i would install street tyres in this muscle cars of yours and downgrade it to a class

As a further small tip most modern cars with a rear weight bias (up until 48/52) profit from ballast (1st or 2nd).
Meaning it’s a good way to improve power/weight ratio.

Cool, didn’t know that. Is it braking or handling that’s increased? I’m assuming it brings the PI down so can add handling / power as required?

Got another tune for anyone intrested

It’s more a case of ballast being incorrectly rated and thus is a very effective trade-off for these cars.

Normally ballast increases weight and balances the car towards 50/50. The weight increase lowers PI.
Ideally an example car that weighs 1000 kg at A700 with a 50/50 distribution should end up on 1000 kg at A700 again when ballast is installed and then weight removed via weight reduction.
If the example car has 54/46 the ballast will balance it to 50/50 which costs PI. The car would end up with more than 1000 kg at A700. That’s why ballast is never PI-efficient for front heavy cars and should only be used for class detunes if at all.
Rear heavy cars are weird though. One of the most extreme examples:

No ballast

With ballast 40kg lighter and race brakes installed at the same PI.

Most modern rear heavy cars benefit from it but the majority not this excessively. Older ones are a mixed bag. Some won’t work (73 Carrera RS), others benefit a lot (Ferrari 330 P4).

Thanks for sharing that. :+1: good to know, I’ve only ever used to bring a car down a class

i always use it to make rear heavy cars into 50/50, even if it dont improve power to weight ratio, it will significantly improve low speed handling [well at cost of downforce]

EZ no PIT i pushed car hard sliding everywhere and still finished with less than 40% on mid ohio  [and won vs race tyre LZ1 guy] where im clearly at distadvantage due to lower grip.

And about muscle cars in S1 class, sorry but u dont take knife to gun fight

here u got proof that streets are meta in multiclass medium races.

i was chilling on streets and didnt even hit 50% tyre wear, while “meta” 911 gt1 was struggling on hards.

Here pork user was ramming me on every corner [like all meta abusers] till moment when his tyres stared to wearoff, then i naturally pulled away. [and i run no forza aero setup so its sub optimal for handling tracks like this one]

Weight reduction is an inefficient way to reduce laptime in this game. You can never go wrong with tunable ARB so i always max them out for upgrades
