Controller Randomly Disconnecting (since the Realms update?)

Controller randomly disconnects and wouldn’t reconnect until a game restart.
Played on Steam Deck OLED, connected to an external PowerA Xbox Wired Controller.
Forza Horizon 5 Premium Edition (Steam), solo account

The bug has no rhyme or reasons on when or how to happen, it can happen at any time, in the Autoshow, in the Pause Menu, or even in a race; it will happen, but it’s just impossible to tell when or how so far.

I’ve tried various things in an attempt to fix it: restarting device, verify game files, disabling and re enabling Steam Input, disconnecting and reconnected the external controller, and nothing works. and It only happened recently, a little while after the Realms update. meaning it didn’t happen as soon as the update dropped.

Having to restart every 10-20 minutes of playing because the game decided to not play nice with the controller is beyond annoying, especially when it disconnects the controller, both external controller and Steam Deck’s own built-in controller gets disconnected, and the only way to navigate the game by that point is by using keyboard and mouse.

I have a video clip of it happening randomly out of nowhere but there doesn’t seem to have an option to upload mp4 files here.

Upload the video to YouTube and put the link in this thread like everybody else.
