Controller disconnect and reconnect?

Does anyone else have an issue where the controller randomly disconnects and then reconnects during a race?
It seems to happen to me and a friend of mine often enough to be a pain. I never experience this with any other games, only in Forza 5.

I’ve experienced this but i was on the main menu, i suspect a console problem, not a game problem. Maybe mixed/crossed signal from other devices causing it?

yeah mine does it all the time, luckily it never seems to do it when actually racing, just in menus and stuff.

Mine will do it. Has done it online and when I came back my mic fed a buzzing to everyone in the race. Now we can check our batteries but then I just assumed they were dying and took a moment to swap em out.

Happened to me as well, but for me it was because I’m pretty far away from my console (roughly 7m - 8m).
My solution: 10m USB extension cable with active repeater.
Works perfectly ever since.

Happens all the time to me when sitting close to another player. It does NOT happen if sitting on opposite ends of a 3-person couch. But happens very easily when sitting side-by-side on the couch.

I get this too, usually I’m there by myself when this happens. Its very annoying.

I have had it happen if I’ve lifted my knees up and blocked the controller’s IR sensor’s line-of-sight with the Kinect. The Kinect gets a bit paranoid if it can’t see the controller . . .

I guess it can also pair the controller up with someone next to you by mistake!

It’s odd. I’m generally alone and maybe 4 metres from the TV/kinect/console. I’m not going to connect my NEXT GEN console to my controller with a usb cable. That’s ridiculous. I’m stumped by this. My 360 never had this issue and it doesn’t happen with any other games. A bit of a disappointment when it happens mid race online.

This is a console/controller issue not a game issue
As others have said there might be a couple of reasons for this
Another might be that the batteries fit a bit losely into the controller so they can lose contact pretty easily, at least this happens to be my problem every now and then
