If I push the left stick forward the car wont go straight. A real problem when driving with rim hugging technique.
Also there is a game breaking half lock pause in steering with a controller. What’s that about and how do I get rid of it?
Probably wont play a minute more until I know how to fix these. And that’s including future games.
maybe up your inside deadzone%.
The “half lock pause” is the speed sensitive steering that wont allow you to apply more lock until you have slowed down more when using normal steering. Try with simulation steering and see how that goes.
Tried, doesn’t work. Thanks for idea though.
It’s not a problem in Gran Turismo, so back to that instead.
One of tjr issues I am aware of. He is referring to sudden loss of wheel lock or rotation when going into a turn and trail braking at the same time. It’s been an issue since FM 4 and what happens is the front wheel rotation just stops dead with no vibration or feedback.
Then you have to really slow down to turn your car. By that time the AI has already overtaken you.
I wouldn’t expect any fixes to this as I just opened up two separate threads for the FXX-K Evo not wiping away raindrops properly and the standard FXX-K’s active aero not working as intended.
Both these issues were swept under the rug by telling me to create a new thread for EVERY visual issue with the game even if it is within a single category such as wiper behaviour or active aero
Ridiculous beyond belief.
This company is going down the gutter for sure. I estimate by next year the project will either be abandoned or there will hardly be any player base left to update thr game anymore
Arrogant jokers. I’m done beta testing the game.
Hi @Rysslass17 .update your controller to the latest version.
You might want to try to play using a DirectInput device. Look into my previous posts, or message me if you need help setting up dualshock for this game
When trying to play through XInput, steering actually felt impaired; idk how people play on xbox controllers
Controller FW update made it better, still a little wiggling on straights but drivable, Thanks!!! Still, the half lock pause is excruciatingly game busting idiocy. I want to be the driver, decide when to straighten out an understeer. It kills seconds every lap. Game killing BUG! FIX! PLEASE!!! Otherwise it WOULD be a good driving game, but getting pissed on controller issues that should have been fixed in previous versions and only have gotten worse makes it a question, is this a MOBA game? 'Cause I can see this idiotic sh8 work on a mobile. Nowhere close to GT7. Could be though.
So the XBOX Pro controller won’t work as it is meant to? Better to buy a PS5 controller? I only have a PS4 and GT7 still has better driving feeling than this, one remarkably important point is that you can drive straight AND turn in corners. The half lock pause should only be applied with the steering aids active NOT on Normal or Simulation. WTH.
If you have a DS4 that should be enough.
It may be wacky to set up, but it feels so much better since there’s no forced steering “assistance”
Happy to help
Also, if you can, try use a cable instead of wireless connection.

Update your controller? Worst response I’ve ever heard.
Why? Updating software improves performance.
What did the last Xbox controller update do?
Most of the time, it’ll improve performance & reduces lagging, but sometimes it can fix more problems like random disconnectin, etc. Here’s an example:
I didn’t ask that. I asked what the latest Xbox controller update did. I found this on the link you provided. Xbox Elite V2 controller also recently got an update, but no noticeable upgrades, improvements, or fixes have been noticed by Xbox users yet.
Some performance improvements.

Incorrect. Fixes to address the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 paddles remaining active with the default profile
