Bug Info: since the latest update, in Featured Multiplayer, the car sometimes (at least once a race) stops turning mid corner or before the corner. Controller still works and everything works ingame except going left or right. After a few seconds it works again, but obviously the race is over when you drive straight ahead in the tire barrier. There was also a Xbox controller update so maybe there’s an issue, but none of my other games have this. The game is now unplayable because I’m going straight ahead sometimes in a race online and therefore I cannot reliably play anymore.

Same issue after update 16 no matter the car/class or track, career or multiplayer. After controller update on console few days later i went to check settings>devices and connections>control and headsets then recalibration options everything looks good. Played other games ok. Forza Motorsport still plays most of time but steering can lock forward when turning right unpredictably causing you to off track, in game telemetry shows no “turn right” input at time all other inputs ok (accelerate/brakes etc) at least once a race this happens, issue Will resolve its self but this can ruin a race. I have not yet experienced this while turning left
Thanks for reporting. It destroys my fun, the races, my ranking and the fun for other people because I ram into them. I was hoping someone else had the issue but couldn’t find any information.
You said the issue will resolve itself. How?
Not sure how it resolves itself but its only for a while , only after about 5-7 seconds i can steer, but by then your already of track, you get back on track after losing positions you carry on with no hope only for it to happen again next race or even next lap. Have now experienced it turning left
Yes. The game is completely unplayable now. Wish I could get my money back. This is ridiculous.
Might well be a controller issue as it has only been an issue since the last controller update. Here are some clips of it happening.

Yes, but it doesn’t happen in other games. Thanks for showing the footage. Hopefully they can fix this in a hotfix. Game is unplayable.
After discussing the issue with a friend it was suggested I try testing with the controller wied up to the Xbox, unfortunately the issue continued.

In this clip I got control back so I could reverse and turn then it was gone again, eventually I had to remove the cable to regain control.
Edit: There is also this post in the FH5 section which seems to describe the same problem.
Thank for your continued research. I have stopped playing the game and I know 2 others who did so as well. I wonder if this is going to be fixed or even acknowledged. At the pace the updates are coming, it might not even be fixed for the upcoming update. In that case I’m going to ask for a refund. Game is completely unplayable. It doesn’t give me confidence since they haven’t even acknowledged it.
Omg this is driving me crazy. i thought it was just me
I opened up a brand new elite 2 controller thinking it was the older elite 2 controller and it still did the same thing. l even grabbed the original controller you get with the xbox series x and tried that and the same thing happened again.
For me, it usually happens when l am in a Trial (out of all things) and usually when l am about to turn left lol as l am trying to turn left the car just goes in a straight line and l have no control over it for maybe 3 to 4 secs until I am allowed to turn left or right again.
This issue started for me about 9 or 10 days ago and is annoying. I’ve been using the same elite 2 controller for 3 years and never had an issue with FH5 before this. l even played Forza Motorsport for 3 hours 2 days ago and did not have the issue
Yep. But since this game is dying and developers are abandoning us it almost doesn’t even matter right? I completely stopped playing since the game isn’t playable with bugs like this.
Forza Support is absolutely terrible. Leaving players in the dust for so long without even acknowledging the issue.
You would hope that they would fix this silly issue with the release of the game on PS5 unless this is just a xbox controller issue which I doubt
This game is not coming to PS5. That’s Horizon.
yeh sorry my bad i read it wrong but yeh the issue is happening in Horizon as well for the last week or so
Oh, really? Well, just before it happened there was a controller update to the Xbox controller. But it doesn’t happen in any other game.
This issue is not acknowledged by the team nor have they done anything to fix it.
I don’t want to play a game, and pay for a game, if the devs don’t take me seriously.
I have taken my time and money elsewhere.
Yeh its not looking like they will fix this issue and l certainly wont be playing the game anymore until this is fixed as the issue is really annoying and happens at the worst times
I don’t see a lot of (important) bug fixes in the new update 17. Who cares about content when massive bugs are making it impossible to play?
No mention that it has been fixed. Are they for real here? Is this how you treat your community? People cannot play the game and they are OK with that?
Just came to see if anyone else was having this issue. I’ve experienced it on several controllers including a, brand new at XMAS, Elite II. So far this is just an issue on my Series X as I have not seen it on PC. …yet. I have a series finale at the Ring in a couple weeks and this does not bode well. F F S!
Occasionally at the very beginning of a race, my car is in auto-drive, similar to when you pause during practice in multiplayer. The car drives at a reduced speed, with no inputs registering.
The first occurrence was in a private multiplayer lobby, at Mid-Ohio. The car launched in auto-drive, and then failed to turn for T1 at all, going straight into the barrier. Unplugging then plugging my controller back in solved it, also prompting the “controller disconnected” screen.
My issue sounds a little different, but of a similar, possibly connected, nature.
hello everyone, I’m the user who opened the topic in the fh5 forum, I managed to find a solution to my problem, you can find the answer here:
I hope the solution is valid for you too, if not I’m sorry.
