Thinking about picking up the Ultimate Edition while on sale for $40. But I just went through the reviews on the Microsoft Store and every reviewer for 50 in a row mentioned constant crashes.
Has this been fixed yet, considering the game has been out for years I hope so.
Basically, just looking for input from current owners (On PC) as to whether they regret their purchase.

Have been playing on PC since release and crashes were common at launch but they have been very uncommon for me for a long time now, I can’t even remember the last time it crashed on me.
If you plan on playing the game on a wheel setup PC is definitely the way to go.

Be ready to troubleshoot your PC. I never once ever had an issue with Forza 7, H3 or H4 on my PC but many do. It may be that it will not launch for various reasons. You have fair warning. No it isn’t fixed because there isn’t one specific cause. It isn’t the game that is broken it is the way the game interacts with the Windows Store and permissions. That is one major cause of the not launching but not the only.
I purchased over a week ago, cant play not even the first race. the benchmark even freezes every 2 seconds. Drops from 100-5fps, the repeat. You cant even steer the car as your inputs arent recognized when it freezes. Many have the same issue, theres no fix if you the issue cause its never been acknowledged. Ive posted twice on here, suggestions are just too bad for you. I think it runs better on potatos. Lots of people cant play the game at all with intel 8XXX>9XXX and 1080ti and above. May be a intel nvidia issue but support for the game is over, Im out $40. I would pirate the game.

TBH theres no troubleshooting that can be done. when all your other 300 games run fine, what can you troubleshoot.
Most of this in situation have done the common fixes for these things such as:
Try other drivers…(I’ve tried 20 or so dating back to 2018.
disable overlays, AV remove AV
disable Oc’s…
I mean all these people have beefy systems too, I’ve spent maybe 15 hours in game? Havent completed a lap…actually I cant even get the benchmark to stop freezing so I dont even try to race anymore. The game is 2 years old, if it runs this way it just runs this way. shame they can get away with it.
Works fine on my ancient laptop with a 965m with 2 GB vram. Other games are not from the Windows store. Other games work does not mean there is not a problem. You have to keep at it. Here is some more to try. The 3 things you tried isn’t enough. When I had the weather app and lots of other apps also form Windows store closing right away, it took me weeks of trying stuff until I nailed down the permission issue that caused it. It has never occurred again with any app/game from the Windows store since. It’s a bad system to be sure.
Appreciate your comments but nothing closes or crashes. the game just doesn’t work. Its the only game in 10 years I’ve ever seen this type of behavior. there re 3 threads on the first page of this board discussing the blatant issues. Like I said, game seems to run ok on potatos like your laptop. It does not not run at all on many high end machines…maybe not yours but many. IT cannot be played, not microstuuter, hard freeze for 1 second every other second. Ive been doing this for 20 years, I know the work arounds and the definition of a bad system, I have 3 pc’s all with similar specs, 8700ks 1080, 1080ti, 2080, all of them render the game unplayable. No AV, nothing.

A car sold whose parts have not passed safety tests by regulators would be selling a defective car. If you know the law, with reference to the sale of *goods & services -this game, sold in the state that it is in, is criminal.
FM7 problem solved → changing the driver fixed it.
FM7 problem solved → removed AV software fixed it.
FM7 problem solved → deleted (x) program fixed it.
FM7 problem solved → uninstalled or installed windows update fixed it.
There is a shared mental illness here which causes people to blame everything except the problem.
People who bought the game who have problems should be refunded. The software is defective.
Leetorts: You describe an OS setup -MS store permission problem correctly. Software I buy -paid for, as being the consumer, I expect it to work. I am not buying it thinking, I will struggle to get it working and need to troubleshoot it.
I have a 2nd SSD setup with only Windows, FM7 & a year old driver, in order to play the €89 game, I paid for -after troubleshooting to this extent, this took months, collaboration with others and an enormous amount of time.
I want my money back. Turn 10 is criminal in their business practice selling this junk.

Permissions are important and may be not set right on a PC. You know what happens when you do not have permission for an app? It closes as it is supposed to because you don’t have permission to run it. This seems to be the most common issue reported here That has zero to do with the code of the game. Did you adjust every graphic setting one by one to see if disabling one or another setting makes an improvement? That is the sort of thing you need to do. That is PC gaming, if you don’t like it and are too lazy get a console. Having an issue doesn’t make Turn 10 evil lol

Good god man… Some people talk because the have something to say, others talk because they have to say something.
But since you mention Turn 10, lets get into that. They produce a defective piece of software which is full of not bugs -errors with worlds of problems. They cant support this rubbish and hire people who are not qualified to do basic 1st line support. -But how do you know that?? Just read these forums. Since they can’t support this junk they disband the support forums, which if you were online from 1992 onward, would know that information is stored -not cut off or deleted, right or wrong, available as a point of reference -this is the very Eros of the internet, these guys cutting off the support forums are a cancer to that Eros. I presented a case to Microsoft outlining what I have mentioned on these forums and a whole lot of other users legitimate complaints. They took it up to their highest tier who found it credible & contacted Turn 10 for answers -at this time, If you had support tickets open with no reply (months old for some users) that was the date everyone got replies.
Is Turn 10 evil, not wording that fits in any context here, are they incompetent? Not up for debate -yes they are… support… maintenance… development… bug fixes…, they even updated the game version to have more problems than previous versions and *even labelled the problems for the world to see. See version number 1.141.192.2 the 3rd set of numbers which are 192 are now 4 numbers 1.174.4791.2 (4791) ← this denotes a major change to the software. (read Cisco IOS version naming conventions to learn the basics of reading what these numbers mean)
I have to agree. I’m all for troubleshooting, I’m all for tinkering, thats one reason I prefer PC. This is on another level. I could also excuse this if it was 60 days after release. However support is ended and theres just nothing else to be done. I do think it may be an intel architecture issue but I also think the community would have narrowed that down by now. this board, reddit are out of ideas so it’s a big gamble at this point. I’m never one to complain about games. I feel most people DO NOT troubleshoot their systems but this is just ridiculous. If I’m online posting in some forum you can believe I’ve done 6 hours research and an additional 6 hours troubleshooting before reaching out.
I also research performance for every game I purchase. In this case I didnt look for bugs, just general performance as the game was 2 years old, patched to hell and obviously there cannot be any major flaws left after 2 years RIGHT? I guess it should be viewed as a used car and I should have taken the software to an engineer for inspection. This is what it has come to for Windows games. What drives me crazy is that its THEIR platform. Why would you not make every effort to make sure the product is the best it can be when being sold exclusively under your own brand? Perhaps it is a ploy to get us to buy xbox.
I puchase last blick friday sale and a have 2 issues: 1? Graffics Stutteing after 20/25 minutes, 2) clack/load screen after events. The first on. a have thhis issue in FH4 too, and may nvida driver is the last… I just have that issue only in FH4 and FM7, in aonther games including FH3 i have no issue
Understand, I want Turn 10 software to be good, I could do this for them. If they offered me a 3-month contract I could get this right. I would want to take this on. This type of thing is what I specialize in. 2008 financial collapse bankrupted Nortel. HSBC Canary Wharf HQ London started migrating their Passport core/destitution layer to Cisco, I did 9 months there working on this. I would love to help fix this -I am in Nicosia Cyprus until end of next year. The biggest advertisement and fix for the company would be to amend this game to work correctly, they can do this, 100% they can -washing their hand of it might, in the short term be a good decision however, in the long run with reference to longevity, related to being a reputable software house -this decision is … it is not a good decision…
Not my problem you guys have messed up PC’s. You don’t need to dissect my post like that. That’s how you troubleshoot graphics issues, don’t help yourself I don’t care. Just keep moaning and complaining waiting for Turn 10 to patch what is not broken. Don’t try anything and everything you can. Just sit there and wait for support to not help you. There’s a block button, use it, I already did. Other people have high end systems and do not have problems. It should just work is for consoles not PC’s. I was editing config.sys and autoexec.bat files probably before you were born.

Crashes sorted. Game is very stable. Not a bad game but if you’re after a propper SIM go for one of the alternatives. Also, all support is now 100% over. End of life. There are better sims out there.
FORZA 7 is not End of life, just no more content updates. As in no new game features and no new cars. Game bug updates still possible but probably unlikely. Support still takes tickets. EOL Forza titles are Forza 1-6. Horizon 1 and 2. Forza Apex (never officially announced) Most likely when the next Forza game comes out or possibly sooner, whenever they decide to give it away in games with gold, than a month later EOL. As it has been. You can still buy DLC for Forza 7.
