that’s not a survey, that’s just PR crap
PGG recently added a major content update revolving around a tuning tutorial. It comprised of clicking 3 highlighted parts. I’m happy for PGG not to create any more tutorials for now ![]()
It is normal for them to run off for a while. As long as you don’t fall too far back, you will start reeling them in after the first lap or 50% if it is a sprint race because the AI usually gets slower at that point.
Also when grabbing a tune, make sure it has the right speed and handling. Too slow and the AI will leave you for dead and really bad handling can make you lose too much time in turns. Also look at the race design, lots of long straights will favor higher speed, lots of turns will favor handling. Some championships have a mix so you may end up using different tunes or even different cars across the 3 races. You may also have to try several tunes to find the one that gives you the upper hand. After a while you’ll get a feel for meta-ish cars/tunes and can easily fall back on them in future championships of similar design.
AWD tunes are often a good choice not just for handling but for corner exit acceleration. In many races you can ram the lead AI in a turn from behind and clog them while you get away with AWD acceleration. Use rewind as needed to get the best result in your chosen curve.
Hope any of this helps.
@PacyFire it doesn’t help, but it does .
It good advice, but 80% of the players just don’t have the ability to compete against the highly skilled AI. And PGG is just cutting those players out of the game.
[citation needed]
Pay attention to the game, the leaderboards, and the achievements. It’s self explanatory. Simple if everyone was good enough to compete at the top level we’d all have the top score on the leaderboards and they would be pointless. There’s your f rigin citation.
Basically said, not everyone is good enough to do the races at highly skilled levels so PGG needs to make the level adjustable is they want to make the game playable by all players. Simple as that!
The leaderboards? Yeah, I’ve seen them. I didn’t know a completely unmodified 1983 Volkswagen Golf could do an average of 348.XX miles per hour through a “C” shaped section of gravel road. Who knew?
The problem is that the AI is completely fake. There’s nothing about simulating a car about them. They’re on rails.
The number of times I’ve seen the frontrunner going much, much faster than I am throughout the race only to start slowing down for no reason so that the race ends with the “exciting” letterbox nonsense as I pass them is ridiculous. It needs fixing.
I agree completely with what you’re saying, however, that difficulty should be left as the players option… because it IS an option. And yeah, it would be simple as that.
(Pardon the rant about the leaderboards… oh, and the AI.)
Leaderboards, yeah… ya gotta chop off about 10% or better of the top before there is any value to the Leaderboards. At least.
Yeah, I guess I lack the patience to scroll down to where I can be sure the scores are legitimate.
I do wonder what the significance of 348.XX miles per hour is though… There are a lot of those.
Sure will do, can I please put forward a suggestion/plea?
Please can you add S2 Class to Open Drifting all my best drift cars are in S2 it would be amazing to use them online, also I’m sure it would be welcomed and increases diversity of course, which is always good ![]()
Done, and i really hope you listen to the people and fire most of your useless team ![]()
Lets make horizon great again
Sorry to say but your post does prove his point and no I don’t think it should have been flagged.
I think I smell a burnt clutch.
these surveys are designed to skew the results favorably. I studied public opinion at the eagleton institute, this is amateur hour. an info-grab with 90% favorable answers, and the only unfavorable is a vague emotional-override, and listed last as a guilt-trip.
this reminds me of the “glitch” that starts people off in Hot Wheels, which literally forces engagement stats to hold up against a clearly unpopular expansion.
no, we don’t trust you. not the devs, and not even the moderators here in the forums.
Well said. Half of the questions along the lines of “How would you describe Forza” are all positive answers. Shows they don’t care at all what we really think.
This has basically been a “Feature” and a stable function of the series for as long as I can remember. First and second place are always buffed and the other AI also dont incur other physics systems like water drag and traction loss in many cases that actual drivers do. The lead that first and second place AI pull should be done away with, Though I doubt it will as it’s been there basically since the beginning. I wouldn’t doubt if its one of those things thats baked so deep into the crust of the code that the current team couldnt fix it if they wanted to without rewriting the entire system from scratch, Fat chance of that happening.
Exactly - would never be bothered to fill out such a biased survey.
If I had done it would look like
“Quality” and “Forza” in the same survey?! What blasphemy is this?
Trusted? Quality? Authentic?
No, I’ll help them out:
“How would you describe the Forza franchise? Please check all that apply.”
Being destroyed.
Getting turned into “games as a service” trash.
Not what it used to be.
There. Fixed it.
HAh, I just got the December survey, Sent to my Gmail for some reason, Dont have an xbox account from my Gmail. But I mistakenly said I was in gamedev or enrolled in a class as a joke and they locked me out of the survey.
