I have not.
I noticed this survey begins with a confidentiality agreement, and I don’t want to fill it out under the condition that I’m not allowed to talk about it.
Plus, I don’t see the point in yet another survey.
The substantial gap between what players have spent years asking for versus what’s actually in the game seems to suggest that customer feedback does not matter much.
None of this game’s shortcomings are due to a lack of customer feedback.
• There have been surveys here after every monthly/series update.
• There’s the Suggestions Hub.
• There’s the Troubleshooting Hub.
• There’s the Insiders Program.
• This forum has been full of feedback for years.
• The game’s Steam forum is full of feedback.
• The game’s Reddit is full of feedback.
• There’s buyer feedback in reviews on digital storefronts.
• There’s feedback from the game’s built-in data monitoring systems.
• There’s feedback on Discord, YouTube, Twitter/X, Instagram, Twitch, etc.
They have tons of customer feedback.
Yet it seems like:
• Very little of all this feedback is ever specifically acknowledged publicly by company leaders.
• If feedback gets acknowledged, it’s often accompanied by vague dead-end responses like “we hear you, but no promises.”
• Very little of all this feedback ever makes its way into these games.
It’s contradictory to say “we hear you and we value your feedback” only to repeatedly ask for the same feedback without acknowledging it or implementing it.
So, what’s all this feedback collection for?
i did the survey, most of it is how we feel they are communicating with us
I feel they are actively trying to do better with communication this last month, and this survey shows that its is one of their main focus points at the moment.
Yes, alot of the new communications require some sort of confidentiality agreement and such things that are are roadblock for some.
On the other hand that creates a “safe” space for genuine discussion without the trolls.
Yes I it feels like they are tone deaf they need to pay more attention to every media it feels like all of us have been ignored and under appreciated for playing there game its so frustrating and it makes people want to give up on the franchise even this far in the motorsport series i feel so many of us feel let down and not heard on the core aspects of the there games
I feel very skeptical because we have been giving them feedback since the forums were made and 99.9% gets ignored or goes into a void please prove me wrong T10 yes I still play it alot of us do because we paid money and we deserve what we paid Live service excuses doesn’t improve the game only updates it makes the game Studio look Bad
I find it to be extremely troubling that this is where we’re at. Im all for players being able to have their suggestions and opinions heard, but ultimately games are made by game developers.
Are they so creatively bankrupt that they are just throwing their hands up like they dont know what to do next. If this is truly the case, they need to start finding people who know what theyre doing.
They need to choose a competitor, like they did when they were formed, they were chosen to make a gt competitor. If they dont want to compete with polyphony than choose someone else. Their game has to go head to head, feature for feature, not just be on par but strive to be better.
Its been a decade since they made something unique, which were cloud based drivatars(which they stopped using). They’re constantly behind the curve when it comes to gameplay and features, instead their focus was native xxxxp@60fps. With this game it was “on track ray tracing”, which was a waste of time.
Hire some people that have experience making the type of racing game you want to make. Stop hiring people that wanted to work on horizon but didnt live in the uk, theyre not the same type of game, theyre not the same type of person.
Im just gonna stop now as this rant could go on forever.
I think the “Career” answers this better than anything else.
Unfortunately that was something that was planned that way. They basically wanted to do as little as possible, thats why so many assets like cars, paint shop, tuning etc is largely reused.
What they did with career is instead of giving us a nice sized list like we had in the past, they gave a fraction of it, then plug in the “featured” events. This was their answer to how can we make a gaas by using whatever they already had. Im sure we’ll see repeats of these “featured” events, like italian month or mid engine month.
So i think they had a plan, but their plan was full of deception, likely targeting untapped new players who wouldnt notice all the recycled content.
They chose to do things on the cheap and try to cover it up with slogans like “built from the ground up”. Now that the game is in crisis mode things will likely cost a lot more to fix or adjust.
Since this game wasnt actually built from the ground up, theyre adding things to a decade old platform. This is why both horizon 5 and motorsport 23 saw many more launch issues compared to the past. This is why issues will continue to persist.
I think this game is fundamentally flawed and wont recover. These surveys and their sudden interest in suggestions was needed years ago before development started, not a year after release. Adding one thing at a time doesnt allow for a cohesive package, the game is constantly in flux.
They need to do what other developers do and get together, figure out a plan, a direction and release one big update. The gaas model doesnt work with a game like this, the game needs too much. Hire some people that know what theyre doing and let it rip.
Surveys, Forza Insiders… Etc.
What’s next? They gonna show io at your doorstep with a mic and camera crew?
Point: They have ALL the feedback they need right here on the forum and people have been creating individual posts related to game bugs or car specific issues.
How much more specific does it have to be?
Community asked for more communication we get more ![]()
But it will start by understaning us, and give feedbacks.
I think it just shows why things dont work. The best ideas come from conversations, not from a list of predetermined questions and answers. You may be able to find out what people want from surveys, but not why and i think the why is more important.
A lot of complaining here.
If you don’t want to participate, that’s your right. If you don’t want to give feedback, don’t. But, if a person doesn’t vote during an election they don’t have any right to complain about their government, and if they don’t share feedback with developers they again forfeit right to complain. If we don’t bother giving feedback when it has a chance to matter, there’s not much point giving it when it doesn’t matter.
Customers have been giving feedback for years across many sources/outlets.
Customers are still giving feedback daily across many sources/outlets.
…But the company seems to largely disregard much/most of that feedback - and they keep moving the goalposts, repeatedly asking for feedback through different sources/outlets without hardly acknowledging or implementing much of the prior feedback… like an evasive carrot-on-a-stick to keep customers distracted & hopeful that this time the feedback will make a difference.
This series has never lacked customer feedback.
It feels insulting & manipulative for anyone to imply that the amount and/or format of customer feedback is somehow a problem holding this game back.
Yes I did it. They wanted feedback and I gave it to them, that’s the only way the game can grow…if they decide to accept the feedback.
We are already creating threads and getting votes on them. No need for a survey. Why have so many different sources of communication when you have just one over here and the community manager even said to creat just one issue per thread even if it is about the same car to make tracking, reporting and follow up easier ?
The survey seems like some kind of diversionary or goodwill tactic.
They have everything they need to know through these forums alone but I don’t see a great deal of positive changes in the game with each successive update.
Oh I even learned that they are going to support FM for one more year? Just like they did with FM 7? But didn’t they say this was a live service game/gaas model which would be supported and improved over the next few years?
What’s next? They’re going to deny that T10 and Forza even existed and this was just a lucid dream? ![]()
Yeah let’s spoon feed the developers more ideas when they’ve patronizingly asked us for video proof and to document issues, that’s not my job when I buy a game to be that involed in fixing bugs, it’s pretty angering to me they release a game and then “please list, document, and vote on what needs fixed”
I’m all for community feedback and communication, but as it’s been said in this thread, there is a TON of feedback here and where does it go?
100% correct, the issue isnt feedback its the lack of acknowledgement as well as responsiveness to it.
I responded even though I open the game once a month for a race or two. The inclusion of tracks has felt bland when looking at the track rotation in Featured Multiplayer. It fails to capture attention by not iterating on ideas quickly and sticking to a single monthly update dump. If an update doesn’t captivate users with some feature that the game lacks over it’s predecessors, they won’t go back until the next update. Steam numbers reflect this trend, with players returning for an update and then leaving steadily over a month until the next update.
Still waiting for Bathurst (among others), the ability to change private lobby host, open track day lobbies online, an in-game replacement for TAA such as FXAA or MSAA, updates to the Data Out feature, etc.
Thats why this drip fed recycled content gaas idea hasnt worked out too well. The longer they drag this out the less engaged people become. Bathurst is a great track, but its not going to keep people engaged for 2 months while they wait for the next track.
