Are you gonna just talk 6 months before nothings happend, this thread is made as soon when pre-order player get their games and 1,5 month later there is only talking, or do you talk abaout who we can ignore all the complains. Fm7 take 8 months to get class base leaderboards that was people asking as soon as game was relase. “we hope to improve rivals” damn that somethink really awful to read, we players hope rivals get better, game makers can make rivals better instead of hoping, what you hope for, people buying your new concept as rpg where you maybe can race sometimes.
And if i dont remember wrong last stream that guy say that next update we will get new post race animation or somethink like that, it feels that team have mutch important to do their own vision and ignored a players i havent hear anyone asking new post race stuff but that it’s what we get while players wondering what they should do when game in current form dont offer pretty mutch nothing.
To be fair, changes take time if done correctly. Gathering feedback, discussing what and how it should be included, implementation, testing. I would rather have a well-thought Rivals mode in 1-2 months instead of a rushed solution which rolls out barely tested. The base game screems “more testing needed” at every corner already so the improvements should be solid. If it takes time and still turns out to be garbage, rant away as you like - I’ll take part in it.
On post race animation: he stated that they’ll include a possibility to skip the post race animation by pressing “A”. So no “new” animation, just a way to skip the current one. He said something along the line: “the first few times the post race animation is fun (I would seriously doubt this) but after the 100th time it becomes tedious” (who would’ve thought that?!)
I absolutely agree that the base game looks as if it had below minimum standard in terms of testing.
But what mystique is associated with class based rivals that it requires so much deliberation and testing?
Class based rivals has been around in Motorsports and Horizon for this entire generation and the tail end of the previous generation. 6 years or so by my reckoning?
The reason this is a sore point for the community is that class based rivals has been the cornerstone for a large portion of the community for a half a decade and the removal of it has caused a miss in expectations of the community.
And after FM7, this should not have been a surprise here.
And since so much stuff just gets dropped in or ported over from other games without proper testing, why should that impede class based rivals? Just drop it in and we can be the testers just like we have been for so many other features.
Well said. You point is one of my biggest frustrations as well. Core, staple features that are what made the Forza titles what they are. Rivals, hotlapping or time attack, using whatever car you want, built as tame or hard core as you want. Having a community of tuners that build class specific cars for other people to use. Testing and pushing some E Class car built to C class as hard as it’ll go. Now there no point. No measuring stick to go against.
I don’t know why it was decided to implement a dumped down Rivals. And I don’t understand it either. But that wasn’t my point anyways. We have the situation we have now and thus should be looking on how to improve it. And for this to happen I’ll wait a little longer for a solid foundation instead of a rush-job which then requires fixing and overhauling.
My point was that class based Rivals should not be a brand new thing for these Devs to implement and also should not take months to test. They have existed since at least 2011-2012, so why would it need so much time to develop and implement?
Well, unfortunately this is not in our control. If it turns out to be no priority then draw the only conclusion we as customers have: stop buying their products. I’ll surely do so.
Yeah offcoure changes take time and need to be tested so it dont feel something that have made in one night. But even i know that mutch making games that i know making and testing new rivals dont take 8 months like it did in fm7. I could also wait 1-2 month to get well made rivals mode i just fear that when i write this topic on january we still get same “we are hoping to improve rivals mode” It’s just so shame that game what looks and drives this good lack this mutch contect.
I have misheard that post race animation thing then, and i have to admit that is one of those small improves that i have been hoping but those kinda small improves are not something that would keep me playining or buying any extra contect.
I submitted a ticket on the 5th November RetroKrystal, still awaiting acknowledgement, however I felt the issue was so important to one section of the community that this thread needed to be kept running. I do want to play this game but without class based event leaderboards there is no motivation or reward for playing.
Unfortunately there is a small backlog relating to tickets so apologise for the delayed response.
There is various issues and feedback features that the team are looking into, especially as different players and aspects of the community would like to improve various aspects of the game.
But we are taking all this information into consideration
I have enjoyed Horizon games to do the content and once I finished the main stuff in the game the rivals mode was what kept these games interesting over longer periods of time. Without Rivals mode there isn’t much to do after you complete the content you are interested in. Seasons are a neat idea to keep the game changing on a very small scale, and its something I have enjoyed more than I thought I would.
But the customization options for horns, clothing, and dance moves seem like a complete waste of time and makes the game feel like (for me) its going in the wrong direction. I don’t blame them for wanting to try something new to see if it works, but don’t do it at the cost of removing features we have had in previous games. Rivals helps to add to the longevity of these games for many players but I Honestly do NOT think they care about long term with these games.
I do hope the rivals events are fixed but, it may be like motorsport 7, by the time they get it fixed it might not have enough players to matter anymore. I know FM7 isn’t dead yet but that game would have had much more success if it was released in its current state. Instead we got to Beta test it for over a year to get a game close to what many expected on release, so I cant really say im surprised by FH4 removing features either. But very dissapointed
Don’t forget that there are multiple teams working on these updates. The team that is responsible for Multiplayer is likely not the same team creating cosmetic items, just like how the car artists don’t make the UI etc.
Just because one thing is known to be in development/released doesn’t mean that that was the only thing being worked on. Playground have a few hundred people in their studio, and I imagine they’re not all animating dab emotes 24/7
I probably built and shared roughly 300 tunes in H3. My garage was nothing but tuned cars. I had doubles and triples of certain rides I liked all tuned a little different. Any cars I didn’t like got sold or deleted. In this game I have maybe 40 cars tuned out of the 250 plus I have. I just can’t see any reason to build and tune cars since I can’t test them on rivals. My garage is clogged up with stock cars hoping that class based rivals will return so their is actually a point in building some of them. Sigh…the wait continues…
Every new Forza title has something that leaves me scratching my head thinking, “why would they do that?”
H3 it was the P. I./ upgrade system. In FM7 it was the loot crates. Now in Horizon 4 they have murdered the rivals system. They Replaced it with monthly rivals that don’t disappear at the end of the month.
The mind boggles as to why there are no class based rivals.
I spent 2 years on FH2 and another 2 years on FH3 improving my skills and getting to the top end of a lot of leaderboards.
I have done about an hour of FH4 in the last 2 weeks… I’m left feeling bored… I’m left wondering what I am going to do with the rest of my Ultimate Edition “perks”
I have a bad feeling that them saying “carefully build and upgrade your car” for the new horizon cup is their answer to the tuning community feeling left out.
