Well i have really bad feeling that new cup thing is nothing new that seasonal championships have been, maybe just bump up max price difficulty to expert to pro.
Allow you to run any car on any Rivals event. And have a leaderboard that is sortable along multiple different metrics. So, if I want to see how my time on a certain track stacks up compared to other players who have run an S2 class Alfa Romeo 4C, I should be able to see that. If I want to see how my time stacks up against other players running a Modern Muscle car, I should be able to see that. Or an S1 Modern Sports Car. Or B class cars. Basically, the leaderboard should be filterable by any combination of model, class, and/or car type (possibly other metrics too, but those seem the most obvious and important).
You could possibly also have a choice of what season to run the race in. If so, then there’d basically be four leaderboards for each track (1 for each season), each of which would be sortable as described above. With that said, that’d definitely complicate things and splinter things a good bit. So I’d personally be alright with just having each track have a particular combination of season and weather conditions that it is set to for rivals. Some here have suggested they should all be in dry conditions in summer for every race. I don’t agree with that, since tuning and testing cars for other conditions is something people might want to do, and skill at driving in other conditions should probably be a relevant skill for rivals.
Beyond the sortable leaderboard, you could also have a sort of “Featured” rivals event for each track. This could basically be the current rivals options. So, it might be using a particular car or have some other particular limitation. This would be good for people who want some direction and don’t want to be overwhelmed by options (I suspect there are a good number of such people, and the current version of rivals is good for them and worth keeping around). And it would just function as a separate leaderboard.
The way it could work is basically the Rivals menu would allow you to pick what track you want to run Rivals on. Once you choose the track, there’d be a menu with options for the “Featured” rivals event or the general rivals event that has no restrictions. You can press a button to see the leaderboard for either one, and once you’re on the leaderboard—particularly of the no-restrictions one—you can pull up filter options so that you can see how you stack up based on any combination of model, class, and/or car type.
The only problem with this I see is that the game’s servers would likely have to store a huge amount more data, assuming they currently only store the data and ghost for your best time. For each track, that’d be a maximum of one set of data and one ghost per person. With the above-described sortable leaderboard, it wouldn’t work unless the game saved your best times for all of the possible filtered categories. Which basically means the game would need to save ghosts for your best time for every combination of car model and class. So it’d need to save your best S1 Alfa Romeo 4C ghost, your best S2 Alfa Romeo 4C ghost, your best A class Ford F-150 ghost, etc. Obviously there are probably over a thousand such combinations, so this would drastically increase the potential amount of data the game would need to save. I’m not sure how much extra data this would entail, but it might be prohibitive. If not, though, I think this is the way Rivals should go. It would allow people to really make their own challenges and play Rivals their own way. I for one would gain A LOT more replay value from the game if this were implemented.

In the meantime I’m back playing FM7 which has been transformed into an excellent game since class based rivals returned along with other improvements. Well done Turn 10.
I just revisited the Support site to check progress on my ticket (#10663, Created November 05, 2018 23:04) and it appears to have been removed without any feedback. If this isn’t a mistake it is a disgrace!

Rivals with same car for everyone is a good idea but blocking possibility to test cars on empty tracks is bad for people doing tuning and bad for diversity

Add a driver dashboard with score of all rivals done with car info, time and tune used.
Add achievements on having done all the races with a same car for 1 season for instance.

Feedback: Game rules pushing to ramming and wallriding.
Logic with team based races is that one player get 100 points passing 1 car of the other color and 50 points more in case winning the race.
At team level, if you just pass 1 car clean you get 100 points for your team BUT if you crash it, you get the 100 points and you raise the chances for your team mates to pass it too. Pushing logic further if you get this crashed player to ragequit, you get instant 600 points for your team, almost same than winning race itself.
Considering maximum. Someone playing clean makes 650 points for ‘his’ team at the ultimate maximum. Same player ultimate ramming makes 650 + 600 +600 + 600 + 600 + 600 = 3650 points for his team at the ultimate maximum.

The objective in team adventure and ranked is not to win races as an individual, the objective is that your ‘team’ wins the CS. Even not doing it from calculation, one player has more chances to win CS by wall riding and crashing other color players than racing clean.
The best players are therefore players expert at wall riding, ramming like hell and possibly chatting with mates making it team wide strategy.

Treasure Island Drift Achievement
Completed all the 5 drift zones, all 3 stars, did it twice and still Xbox (home menu / Cup menu / FH4) indicates 93% of completion of the challenge
Thumb up… Because a racing game is not only about focusing multiplayer (even though it’s also terrible). Full class based Rivals Mode must return. I have all forzas and FH4 is the only one I abandoned because it’s the only one without a proper Rivals Mode. FIX that!!
I too have just found out that class based rival is missing in this game like it did in FM7, it really is beyond ridiculous. I thought PG would learn from T10’s mistake…
It’s one thing to have certain cars locked behind wheel spins and Forzathons and etc. I get it. It’s to “encourage” people to play more often. But to remove class based rivals?? That’s only gonna “encourage” people to play less or even stop playing!
Guess I’m glad I got this game for free as part of a bundle and I only paid for the car pass…Removing the highly popular class based rival is one of the strangest or should I say, dumbest design choices I’ve ever seen in video games.
No. But if im not wrong in fm7 there wasnt any word abaout rivals before they was ready to announce that class base rivals is coming back. I think PG have that kinda NDA that they cant tell us pretty mutch nothing what they are going to do.
I don’t think that is the solution at all, the permanence of them is their appeal. As it is, I don’t mind attacking one of them every now and then to put a time up for my friends to try to beat, but if they disappeared after a month I wouldn’t bother.
I don’t think the case for more rivals is helped by the low usage of the events that are there. If people want to run a weekly hot lap competition, then maybe pick one of the existing rivals events each week? When you eventually run out, you can complain you’ve run out of events, but as things currently stand, it just looks like nobody has any interest in them, even the ones that are straight open class rivals events.
In base game we dont even have mutch open class rivals, 2 road racing and 2 cross country, and only circuit that is open class is goliath in S2 all others are sprints. So 57 rival leaderboard and we have only 4 that are in open class, that is same amount that drag racing rivals have in just a-class and S1 class there is 5 leaderboards that is more than other discplines have open class leaderboards compined!
Im so sick and tired testing tunes against all focus and tt’s but even when counting fortune island i have zero place to test S1 road racing tunes, yeah there is one S1 class road racing rivals leaderboard and even that one they have ruined because it’s winter. i was really hope when i was driving kraken first time that would be S1 class as that is mutch more fun track to drive with S1 class than S2 class car but no, goliath is S2 and they made kraken in S2 also and both are even wet weather.
