I’m pretty sure all it does is checks your gamer profile on Xbox One. If you have any record of playing Fallout 4 from before a certain date, it will unlock the car.

A lot of games on 360 had achievements that checked for save files from other games and looked on your gamertag for achievements from other games. This kind of cross-promotion is not new and is a fairly straightforward process.

The most important part:

Seems like everybody gets it.
Good.

I guess we all get it, which is pretty cool.

The word ‘or’ is interesting…

Does this mean EVERYONE gets it? That’s what it implies…

Oh, so now just having Forza or Fallout installed on your console will be enough to receive the car? Cool. Although it makes things slightly… Less automated than they would’ve been, as they will now need to send you an unlock code.

That would also be the implication of the giant letters “FREE TO ALL” above it, yes.

It definitely would…

Not that I missed that part or anything XD

Yes I guess the “or” really has to mean, that we all get the car…

That really is a neat cross promotion, but foremost to players of Fallout that do not play Forza. So what could be a counterpart in the Fallout universe that would make Forza players to purchase Fallout? Hmmmmm

I kinda think you have it backwards. If I play Fallout, but not Forza, I wouldn’t even see this promotion, so it isn’t going to make me want to play Forza. On the other hand, if I play Forza, I will see this, and maybe think “Hmm, I should check out that Fallout thing”.

So, I think this cross promotion is targeted at getting Forza players to try Fallout, not the other way around. Or, just to simply say thanks in order to garner good will.

This promotion is on the front page of the Bethesda website.

I don’t know how many Fallout players regularly check the Bethesda website, and I don’t recall Fallout having any kind of in game message system like Forza does so the amount of Fallout players who will see this promotion is probably limited but they are promoting Forza.

No no…if you play Fallout and not Forza, you still get send a code. Most likely with a link or text to the promotion. So Fallout Players might like to once drive the cars they see as rusted things alongside the roads.

As you can’t drive cars in Fallout I don’t see a reason for Forza players to try Fallout…

Yes. Good point. I had forgotten that even those who just play Fallout get the code.

A hardcore enough Fallout fan just might buy FM6 upon seeing the code, just to drive a car from the Fallout universe.

Edit- Probably wrong since it might not apply to PC.

A lot of people will be angry I think. People went out and got Fallout 4 just to get this car. I know, silly, but people were promised something on specific terms, and now everyone gets it. That’s gonna cause even more whining on these forums.
Why can’t they ever do anything right? Just be consistent and up front? It’d make this place a lot brighter. lol

Judging from the replies in this thread the response so far appears to be very positive. Seems like you’re the only one whining right now.

I disagree.

I’m on the exact terms Mitchy described, as are a number of my friends, and yes, we’re a trifle miffed. However, for the sake of these forums, I’m not going to make 64927135 threads having a moan, but instead do what peiple can’t and keep quiet lol.

That also being said, it’s nice that those who have no interest in similar types of Open World games like F4 get to have the car without having to spend money doing so. I applaud the decision in that respect.

Would I have liked it to be unique, yes. Is it the end of the world? Nah.

I’m well excited though
