I would like the ability to make wheel sizes smaller, the whole wheel not the rim, also being able to change the profile of the tire and over all more customization of wheels
We should be able to decrease wheel/rim diameter. The standard in drag racing is the 15 inch diameter rear wheel. If a car comes stock with wheels that have a diameter greater than 15 inches, we should be able to decrease the wheel diameter down the 15 inches, at 1 inch increments, because 17 and 18 inch diameter wheels are still popular too.
This applies to BOTH front and rear wheels. Sometimes more tire sidewall looks great/has performance benefits. Maybe anything below 18 inches will negatively effect a car’s handling? Would need to be properly balanced.
Different wheel sizes and the ability to free look around the cockpit and start engine when in the garage would be nice.
I second these things as well. Also, a Track Width/Wheel Offset upgrade like the FH series has already. It’s the little things that go a long way.
I think I speak for many people here who enjoy customizing cars, that sometimes rims can be to big on a car, and there is no way to downsize them, or increase the tire profile.
Some cars in this game have ZERO options when it comes to this making just about every aftermarket rim look rather ugly when they are so big…
Being able to resize them to be smaller, and/or adjust the tire profile like in previous games would be a great feature to have.
Forza as a video game, has very good customization.
Maybe not necessarily exterior modifications, due to the massive list of vehicles, but Forza does have in depth performance customization.
Its upgrade system is quite extensive when looking at more of the arcade-y genre but lacking more on the simulation end.
Especially when comparing Forza 7 to Gran Turismo 7, there is so many more things you are able to do in Gran Turismo than Forza.
I’m not here to discuss the system as a whole, but a single point I am begging to have changed.
Tire Height.
May not be the most thrilling addition, but it is incredibly important as long as Forza continues to add… rather creative vehicle choices to its Simulation-style racer.
You can change the width, rim size, wheel spacing (in horizon), tire compund. The final thing needed to completely customize your tire is its height!
With smaller vehicles, like the Abarth 595, their top speed is impacted incredibly by the height of the manufacturers stock tire dimensions. Its safe to say that the stock tires were never meant for that speed.
With larger vehicles, like the Ford F150 Trophy Truck, their acceleration is hindered by the super tall offroad tires they’re meant to have.
This also comes with the effect of being able to lower a vehicles centre of gravity, so they’re able to take corners more stabily and at higher speed.
It would be good to also be able to lower the vehicles suspension more if the height of the wheels were taking away potential to sit lower to the ground, but I wouldn’t be too mad if that wasn’t here.
In real life, tire height is an important way to tune the way a car handle corners and what speed the vehicle is capable of.
In real life, its also not a hard modification, nor necessarily expensive since tires get used up all the time.
Its something the next Forza Motorsport needs to have or I will be very sad.
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest :3
On one hand, I’d like to have the option, it would allow be to get some cars lower to the ground
On the other, I shudder at the thought of racing against a car that has janky tire sizes to take advantage of the PI system in some way… I’m just thinking of Midnight Club LA specials running around the track haha
EDIT: Basically, I’d like this feature if it didn’t mean racing against stuff that looks like this online
Blows my mind how many obvious features from FH5 weren’t brought over, like whitewalls & tire lettering, wheel offset, engine sound changes with upgrades AND one of the most obvious of all, changing OEM wheel’s sizes. Sometimes the OEM style looks the best, but they’re only 13"-15". Seems like a no-brainer to bring back this option.
Here’s the same car with the same wheels except a few inches larger
Wow, the car is so much better rendered in FH5.
I find the car definitely looks more real in FM23, just more colorful and lively in FH5. Doesn’t help that FM23 messed up the car’s Acapulco Blue.
It is not always about the photorealism. I believe, that in common pursuit for the photorealism, many devs lost the style and consistency, and that is what it is.
MotorSport has always been about realism. Makes sense for FH5 to be more stylized. I much prefer the photorealistic look.
They need to lose the stretched tire look or at least give us the option for meaty setups. No one with any sense uses stretched tires on the track.
I also agree on adding these rim and tire profile size options, especially since i always play FH5 with WRC’s Group A, Group B and Group 4 rally cars such as the 1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth, Lancia Delta Integrale, Renault 5 Turbo etc., with the desire to fully recreate their true original rally specs through the in-game car customization menu.
