Holy crap these two cars are awesome for drags from the factory. Just finished watching TopGear where Rutledge and Tanner drag raced these two against each other. The dodge has a 840hp V10, the Ford has a 5.4l 750hp V8. They both ran low 9s, with the Dodge pulling an amazing bumper dragging wheelie! Off to go try an build these two in FM5, just looked so fun.
No V10 swap, but pretty close to same numbers with race motor swap. Not really into drags, but kinda fun. Just can’t make the suspension as soft and transfer as well, but still works well.
Well, I’ve got the replicar bit covered in FM4. Once I can get some final specs on it, I’ll be throwing 5 of them up for auction (it’ll be the 392 Challenger). Don’t mean to advertise on someone else’s thread, but I figured I’d point it out if anyone cared…
I watched this episode as well. These cars would be a great addition to the drag racers collection. But T10 only cars about circuit racers so they will never be added.
You’re right, they only care about circuit racers. With all these track monsters like H1 Hummers, Transit vans, Dodge darts, etc, etc, being added to the game.
Since when was painting and “engineering marvel’s” exclusive to Circuit racing? Also, since when did a car racing (Nascar for example) discredit its drag racing ability? The fact is, over 3/4 of the cars in the game have no exclusive relation to Circuit racing. So saying Turn 10 only care about Circuit racing is stupid, it just so happens there’s allot more depth to Circuit racing than drag racing, so it sometimes seems that way.
It just so happens they focus a majority of the multiplayer lobbies on circuit racing based events and that is enough to refute my argument that T10 only cares about circuit racers?
And what’t this nonsense about 3/4 of the cars not being for circuit racing? There might be only 10 cars in this game that aren’t circuit racers.
The Dodge Dart in the game is the drag racing conversion from the factory.
A limited option for 1968 only were the Hurst Hemi Darts, using the 426 Hemi engine, constructed with weight reducing stripped down interiors, removal of side window mechanisms. These special models (only 50 were made) were created strictly for drag racing, and included a non-warranty disclaimer. The cars were shipped painted only with primer with base wheels, fiberglass body components (hood with a special scoop).
And the “drag car” that was put in didn’t even shake up the leaderboards in the drag lobby and there was no competitive multiplayer lobby added to even use it in drag racing.
