Celebrate 20 Years of Forza Motorsport with Fujimi Kaido

Almost every time i race the AI i think it would never be allowed

This is amazing news, I am sure the track will look great, not to mention it will have Time of Day and Weather, so this is gonna be great.

Some have mentioned some “reasons” for not having other track layouts. They 100% should be in the game, it will make any events more interesting instead of feeling like you’ve already raced on the same layout for the 100th time.

Don’t most of the alt. layouts connect back to the main straight? There’s your “mandatory” pit lane. How did they do it in the past? Let’s not forget these are video games, anything is possible, nothing is “mandatory”, there’s a reason for creative teams to get creative.

We should ALWAYS be asking for more, it makes the game 100 times better. More content is never a BAD thing. So more layouts for existing tracks, yes please! More real and fantasy tracks, yes please. More NEW tracks, heck yeah!

I am more excited for the Forza “lore” tracks that could return, from Prague to Dubai to Rio, we know they will be remade and “built from the ground up”, including ToD/weather. In addition, these tracks offer tunnels and bridges, real tracks rarely have any of that. It’s a reason why Grand Valley and Deep Forest to any Shutoku Highway based tracks are so popular.

Let’s hope for more great content plans after Fujimi Kaido.

On an Xbox console side note, I hope they release a nice dynamic background for their 20th anniversary. Maybe a special edition controller or a physical copy of the game in a 20th anniversary steel book. So many possibilities.

I would say this is the best thing thats happened for this game..the best thing thats happened for Forza in its history is FM4.

What people? Forza is nearly dead.

Oh nice a new track and a few new cars… nobody seems to be bothered by the fact that FORZA has had an unacceptable driver AI, a completely useless penalty system, a career mode unworthy of the Forza series, no real achievement system and a useless paint editor with no sponsors worth mentioning.

Please don’t misunderstand, but FORZA lacks the details that make a game a good or really good game.

If I knew that someone would take the criticism seriously, then I could name countless examples. But since the T10 devs don’t even begin to deal with the things mentioned above and “only” feed FORZA with new tracks and cars, it’s no use.

In my humble opinion, Forza is just below mediocre and I’ve been playing car racing games for over 35 years. You can just tell that the development team doesn’t care what state the game is in.

I come to this conclusion for the sole reason that it has not yet been fixed that the bots, for example, complete the first lap of a race easily 3 - 4 seconds faster than in the rest of the race, or bots ignore the player.

Simply ridiculous.

I too have been playing racing games for 30+ years. And while I’m -somewhat- disappointed with FM2023, I don’t think T10 (at least the core dev team) is entirely to blame…

I’ve also been a software dev for many of those 30 years. I know how sausages are made. The dev team could have prolly made the game everything we wanted it to be, but if the stakeholders are enamoured by other products (FH), something else has to suffer (FM).

EDIT: I’ve played a bit of FH over the years. It definitely appeals to a lower common denominator, thus is more worthy of investment.

This really hits the nail on the head.

Back in 2017, Sarah Mei said it perfectly:

“We think awful code is written by awful devs.
But in reality, it’s written by reasonable devs in awful circumstances.”
@sarahmei

A timeless reminder to judge less, empathize more.

Microsoft exercising too much control has definitely affected the game negatively.

Circumstances, say, brought on by clueless leads who probably shouldn’t be in charge of even a busted hot dog stand?

There’s a reason no one’s trotted out Mr. Built from the Ground Up for the last 18 months now.

I would agree with Horizon being the more important game, but they were given more time than ever before and simply dropped the ball. There was a direction change made at some point to drop the xbox one version, but that wouldnt have effected what they produced.

Im not a dev, but when a game releases and pretty much every part of the game has issues, theres a big problem. We’re talking, unpopular game design issues which includes a bad career mode as well as the original upgrade mechanics, graphical issues, sound issues, ui issues, connection issues, ai issues, penalty issues, a game loop designed around fomo, decent amount of less content, bad communication, an unfinished road map, the list could go on.

There were multiple failures at all different levels for something like this to happen. Its unfortunate, but ultimately inexcusable. Forza Motorsport fans didnt deserve this game, they certainly deserve more than Fujimi Kaido.

You guys are always complaining. At lunch, the game had several problems but a lot of them have been corrected. Obviously, the game is not perfect, but I think this is the best forza. A lot of people think that FM4 is better, but it’s just nostalgia, the carreer was races without any purpose even is it was more diverse than fm8. Remember that you can play forza horizon if you to do something else. Only 8 cars on track, bad physics, no night, no rain, awful multiplayer with a lot of people hitring everyone, etc… I really like FM8 multiplayer with spec racing, practice and qualification. And remember paid dlc, new track were not free at the time. Now, turn 10 gives us free cars and tracks and the game is now really good even if I would like to have past championships back.
Thank you turn 10 !

If it does link to Hakone.

Im thinking turn 1 under the bridge on the far left off track & then it comes out on the back set of esses, there is a link road behind those linking red signs if you go on photo mode.

Oh, boy. Here we go.

This is aggressively false, and a 90-second perusal of this forum and the Forza subreddit will provide plenty of evidence against this statement.

…Well, that’s certainly a take.

Oh, dear. Not going to lie, this made me tap out, but then I saw this on my way out the door:

You know, if there’s anything that the last several years of AAA gaming has demonstrated to me, it’s that paying a little extra for add-ons is quite preferable to the drip-fed wasteland of slop that 90% of free content is nowadays, because at least with the paid stuff, I could be relatively certain that the content that I paid for will have some effort put into it and that I’ll be able to access it at my leisure and on my own terms. The only thing currently stopping me from loading up Forza Motorsport 6 and being able to play with nearly every single car in the game is lack of hard drive space from the other games that I’m currently playing. Meanwhile, Motorsport 2023 has yet to reintroduce any of the previous content that was timegated, despite promising to do so by the end of last year. It’s April 4th. That is just one of the many, many egregious and serious faults that this game still has.

The physics of FM 2023 already leaves the previous ones obsolete, I played FM4 and by God, how Forza has evolved and how nostalgia blinds us, even FM7 is far below in drivability and the graphics are also already terrible, especially the blown out lighting at several moments
