First, I’d like to make a shout out to Forza Motorsport for finally bringing us these amazing looking new forums!
Welcome! I guess we can continue the conversation over here.
In the Forza Motorsport community, there are a ton of racers who have loved the Cat n Mouse playground game. It brings us a whole other experience from the usual circuit or drift. It allows some of us to vent our daily frustrations from the lousy drivers we see on the roads. But it brings together another inner group of people who share a similar interest in smashing each other up and causing havoc but with an objective.
If you haven’t already, post below if you’re a fan of CnM or interested in it and we’ll invite you whenever we host a private lobby for CnM.
This is my first post on these new forums, so if I’m able to, I’ll edit this original post adding the names of people looking for some CnM action.

So you have your cats and your mice with however many teams. The mice are basically circuit racing against each other. The cats are trying to make their team’s mouse win, by bashing the other mice or defending their own.
However, the classes for both cats and mice are still up in the air. I prefer D class mice and A class cats while dvetts, who is the other frequent private lobby host prefers C class mice with unrestricted class cats.
And there are some varying “rules” that different people choose to play. I personally prefer playing what’s called "Lead Mouse’, where the only mouse that cats can hit, is the one that is in first place.
Mice can hit other mice. Mice can hit cats. Cats can hit other cats but cats can only hit the first place mouse. Unless the first place mouse is on your team, which you’ll want to defend them.
There’s the No Rules group, which I haven’t seen them on Forza 5 yet. Who choose to play by any means necessary even if it means pinning their oversized overpowered car in front of an under-powered mouse in a corner.
The last is called “Shepard” where there are only a couple cats and the rest of the lobby is full of mice, or “sheep”.
Edit: Sneaky Jeep swooped in while I was typing mine… but at least mine is more descriptive rofl
at the end of the day its really just a team race.
and as for your no rules group… that’s me. so you’ve seen them, you just haven’t seen us play that way yet.
privately hosted lobbies are usually lead mouse rules so we take what we can get and would rather play by the host’s rules than not play at all.
Well I appreciate that, not only for myself but the rest of people in my lobbies and any new guys interested in CnM.
And well, I like to make sure people are well informed…
how do you think we got so good at wrecking and avoiding being wrecked? the FM3 CnM lobbies were like a prison riot. you either got good at it or you died. same in FM4… until lag took over anyway. then it became all about who ever had the heavier connection. thos of us without lag on our side had to work even harder to win. so by comparison, the lead mouse stuff is both easy and frustrating at the same time. all that work to catch and kill a mouse… and then to just let him go… but i guess it’s a good artificial way of keeping the game close i guess. lol
so yeah, no rules, that’s how we learned to play. but shepherd and lead mouse are fun too. it still takes skill to wreck others while avoiding wrecking yourself, to drive defensively, literally, and to bob and weave around cars trying to obliterate you.
And most of the No Rules guys that came in the Lead Mouse lobbies on FM4 had the HEAVIEST connections. Ramming them at high speeds with the heaviest cars in the game could barely do anything against them.
yeah i know. i’ve parked sideways in front of a datsun 510 with my 5,600 pound BMW 8 series and was just pushed down the road like i weighed nothing. i could keep my door glued to his front bumper and it didn’t matter. down the road i went. there were quite a few people like that. over time, i learned who to play with and who to avoid.
custom public lobbies eventually became the only place to avoid them.
Microsoft needs to fix the whole inviting to game and joining friends stuff or Turn 10 needs to add user creating lobbies. (Well hopefully both but need one ASAP)
The Datsun could somehow manage having godly amounts of HP though…
Oh and I’d like to host a lobby in a little bit today if anyone is down.
