Car Types (Divisions) in FH4
For new players, Forza games use Types (or Divisions) as a filter for racing events to group cars of similar style. This categorization is separate from Performance Index, and it’s already been announced that FM7’s Homologation system is not used for FH4.
The July 10th livestream revealed character customization t-shirts that include the names of car types in the game:

Note that the livestream showed a game build still being worked on, so there could be differences from what the shirts are showing to the final car list.
“Modern” types tend to be model years after 2000, “Retro” types tend to be cars from the 1980s and 1990s, and “Classics” tend to be cars from WWII through the 1970s. The single “Vintage” type in FH4 could be for pre-war models.
Most of these types overlap the ones used in FH3, with some changes:
- FH3 has Asian and European Sports Car types which look to be combined into Modern Sports for FH4
- FH3 doesn’t have types for Retro Sports, Track Toys, Trucks, or Vintage Racer.
I’ve posted the overlapping cars from FH3 as examples for each Type and will update with the actual FH4 lists when we have confirmation closer to launch.
Anything Goes
In FH3 this is used as an unrestricted type when creating Blueprint races.
Classic Muscle
These are mostly Detroit muscle cars, but the group includes Holdens and Ford Falcons. James Bond models are classified as country U.K. Dates range from the 1965 Mustang to the 1979 Camaro. The AMC Javelin is the least expensive at 35,000 CR.

Classic Racers
These are mostly European models that raced at Le Mans and in the World Sportscar Championship, from 1948-1971. They include the most expensive cars in the game at 10,000,000 credits, though you can get the Ford Lotus Cortina for 50,000 CR. The Cortina has the lowest stock PI at D739, while the Porsche 917 is S1 861.

This group includes modern offroad trucks as well as the 1945 Jeep. Note that the Forza Edition of the Nissan Titan is classed in Extreme Offroad. The Mercedes G65 had been an SUV in FH3 but is part of this group for FH4. The Defender is the least expensive of the group at 30,000 CR.
