I’ve added the car division info found at the end of the famous car list video into my spreadsheet with announced cars and grouped all 374 cars by their division. There are 40 cars for which I haven’t seen any info yet about which division they belong to, even though it might be really obvious for some cars I’m not going to speculate on anything. Among those 40 cars are mostly the rumored barn finds, some announced cars that were not in that particular video or some where the video lagged and the car division wasn’t shown. Below is the list of cars grouped per car division with the lowest populated divisions up front, those 40 cars with unknown divisions are listed at the end.

Also note that compared to FH2 there are a couple of changes in car divisions :

  • offroad buggies is a new division
  • rods and customs is a new division
  • vans & utility is new division
  • US street muscle and American racers have been merged into classic muscle
  • sports cars is split into European sports cars and Asian sports cars
  • JDM icons is removed and those cars are added to Asian sports cars
  • track toys is removed and those care are added to Asian sports cars
  • 90s rally is renamed to retro rally
  • group B monsters is renamed to rally monsters

Haha exactly! I was a bit annoyed for that in FH2 as well. That van a cult classic? yeah right…

Overall I like the changes in the divisions they made. The new divisions look fun and I’m also glad track toys is merged with Asian sports cars, cars like the Honda S2000 and Toyota GT86 really belong up there with the rest.

Still modern rally feels a bit empty with only half a dozen of Subaru’s and Mitsubishi’s there. Would have loved to see one of the older Ford Focus RS there. And the 2013 Focus ST should he in hot hatch instead of super hot hatch IMO.

But overall, certainly improvements over FH2.

I’m now comparing the cars in the FH2 divisions with those in FH3. Other than cars moving around to the newer divisions or stuff related to what I posted in the topic, there are a couple of division changes that are interesting as well :

There are a couple of changes I disagree on but all things together these are all good changes IMO.

No, but there are extra filters to narrow things down for Horizon Blueprint. Check out this video : https://youtu.be/4ONGh15csk8?t=9m18s

You can see the F-150 raptor being an offroad vehicle but for blueprint it can also be reached via American all-stars, Heavy hitters, 2010s, Ford, Ford vs Holden.

Not sure yet how these extra filters exactly work but they are not car classes. In the demo you can see as well that each car has only 1 division.

Wow, the Extreme Offroad class is ruined imo. Only 4 cars now?

Maybe a good place to add some DLC lol And same goes for Offroad Buggies (need more than 5 IMO)

Yeah indeed, it seems a bunch of them have been moved to standard offroad now like the RAM runner and both versions of the F-150 raptor.

It’s probably 5 cars though, the video lagged when the player passed by the 2012 Bowler EXR S so we didn’t see its division. But it was extreme offroad in FH2 and you see it driving along the trophy truck, the Mini X-raid and the Ford T6 in the demo opening part at the beach as well, so fingers crossed it is still in extreme offroad in FH3.

1 disappointment in that aspect is that the F-150 Race Truck currently has the exact same stats as the normal version. If they would give it the proper race specs it would make sense to put it in extreme offroad as well.

But yeah, hopefully some new offroad machinery for the DLC packs :wink:

Not sure T10/PG care to fill the lower populated divisions though. If it’s like Can-Am in FM6, even when Porsche came to FM6 they didn’t even bother to do the lovely 917/30. But at least Kunos will do what T10 couldn’t, the 917 will come to Assetto Corsa this fall. :slight_smile:

Yeah, I remember Horizon 2 having quite a few Extreme Offroaders, now it’s seemingly empty, it’s only the racing trucks now, and I’m with ya for more Trophy Trucks and such as DLC.

What’s worse about it is that to me some of the other trucks just don’t fit outside of Extreme Offroad, like the Rally Fighter and RAM Runner. And come on not even at least the Raptor Race Truck? lol. At least I have the new buggies to fill in that void. :’ )

It’s unfortunate that only 10% of the cars in Forza Horizon 3 are new. The rest are from Horizon 2 or Forza 6. I get that they already have them made. But they couldn’t spend some time updating models and turning 2011 version of cars into 2016/17 version?

Some good guesses there, I pretty much agree with everything. :slight_smile: And indeed the sandman appears on the Ute races so it should indeed be vans & utility.

And yeah I assume the Warthog will be extreme offroad as well. So we could already be at 6 in that division.

The full list is visible when you progress and unlock Blueprint, enabling you to set up an event for any of the cars (DLC, Barn Finds and other unlockables) even if you don’t own them.
