Car Packs and Gamesaves Gone Horribly Wrong

Dear Playground Games

The other day I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to play Forza Horizon 2 (Xbox One,) from the beginning. So I tried to find a way to start a new game or (hopefully,) a “New Game Plus” mode. Turns out there isn’t one, but you knew that already didn’t you?

So I logged into my alternate Microsoft account on my Xbox One, with the obvious understanding that dlc content is shared across the same console. After all Microsoft themselves use that feature as a selling point.

Unfortunately, there were no “free” dlc cars, you have to buy them with in-game credits, which is something I absolutely won’t do on account of the fact that I already purchased them with real money. Altogether they cost more the actual game did. Even worse was the fact that the other paid DLC, (and I’ve bought all of them,) like Horizon VIP, Treasure Map, and most notably, Storm Island, where all flagged as unpurchased. Despite the fact that I bought them all already, (and played them too, can’t get nostalgic for something you haven’t had after all,) on my main account.

So I look to the forum’s and sure enough, you guys don’t support shared dlc across a single Xbox. There were no shortage of so stories either, like a father who bought it for his Microsoft account, who was very surprised to find out he’d have to buy it again on there children’s account’s if they wanted to play it.

While that is pretty terrible, not to mention anti consumer, to gouge families like that. I don’t have any kid’s and both of the accounts in question belong to me, so it isn’t my problem. I’ll just play on my main account where the DLC is already bought and paid for.

But there are a couple of problems with that. First one is I don’t want to lose all the progress I made in my old save game. Secondly, (and most importantly,) I want the cars I bought with real money, (and quite a lot of it I’ll add,) to be flagged as “free” in-game.

Now Xbox live backups your saved games to the cloud so I wasn’t even worried about that first one. What I was worried about, was the cars. If I deleted my main save game, would I still get the free DLC cars in my new game?

Are the “one-time only” free cars, free one-time per save game or are they only free once in a lifetime? To find out I logged into my alternate account and repurchased the cheapest car pack on there. I played through the game until I unlocked the autoshow, and predictably my free cars where right there and so I collected them and deleted my save game entirely, (both local and cloud files,) and did it again once again my DLC cars are free at the autoshow.

Relieved, I deleted my local gamesave for Forza horizon 2 on my primary account, keeping my old save on the cloud. Imagine my surprise when all the dlc cars that I bought with real money almost a year ago are no longer free in the game. I forced closed and then reopened the app, and unfortunately it synced my new game with the cloud. So now I’m out a bunch of cars and my old savegame

I contacted Microsoft support and they walked me through 4 hours of resets and reinstallations to no avail whatsoever. They referred me to the developer, which is you. Please help me

Sincerely,
A Dissatisfied Customer

I am in the same boat mate but as per usual no one at turn 10 cares I lost my game save last weekend. 198. Cars and all my progress and 51. Million credits I know. Don Joe won song lost his game save for FH3 they gifted I’m 250 million credits and all the horizon edition cars. So they can do this for anyone I for one would just like the credits to get all my cars back 200 million would cover that plus lost credits
