I don’t race with manual clutch but this issue has been around for a long time. Way back when they did X ghost friends a mine had the same issue
Yes,now i have dropped the clutch it starts perfect every time now cheers.
How do I get the indy cars to go on the line i use manual with clutch on controller I have to rev it up twice after race starts and everyone else has started. Does it do this with the formula one cars also. I also had this problem in Forza 5 but only with the audi e tron i just spammed the clutch and that seemed to work but not in Forza 6 do these cars work differently as manual for formula cars
It’s a bug in the game, at the moment you have 2 options, turn the clutch off or tune first gear so it’s short enough to launch the car without stalling
when you are completely stopped in forza 6 the rpm’s of the car are extremely sluggish, if you get the car moving at all, even the slowest speed they will speed up and become a lot more responsive. this makes some cars stall right off the line when i know they have more than enough power to spin the tires from the start. any answers would be helpful. I dont have any assists on and I use manual with clutch.
Tune 1st gear to be shorter or go to manual without clutch.
I have noticed this occurs more with some cars than others, and cannot always be fixed with tuning. I normally just re engage the clutch, rev it to max, dump the clutch and hope it catches…and doesn’t spin me out the other way.
yeah i do the same thing but its a pretty big problem if your trying to drag race. i feel like the turbo wont spool unless youre moving
I can see where that would be aggravating if you were trying to drag race
Are you keeping the revs up prior to take off at the start of a race? Or are you only applying throttle the moment you can take off? You generally don’t want to be hitting the rev limiter but you’ll definitely want to be applying some level of throttle prior to the take off when the clutch is auto released for you. How much depends on the car and tune.
If you’re specifically talking about the situation mid-race where say you’ve been wrecked and need to get going again from stand still, it’s a little different to the start of a race as you’ll need to carry out the clutch business yourself (unkike the start where its taken care of for you). IE press clutch, lightly press throttle to get revs up, then release clutch - so long as its not too much throttle to cause you to do a burnout it should get you going much faster than merely pressing the throttle.
To compare it to the real world, try taking off at the lights whereby the engine is idling with clutch in, release clutch and only then apply throttle. Chances are you’ll stall or slowly bunny hop your way along until you get to adequate RPM’s and finally acceleration occurs normally. The game doesn’t emulate a complete engine stall or the bunny hopping, but it will make you first just crawl along just like you would in real life.
its not even a matter of trying to get the best start in a race. im mainly just curious as to why the rpms are so sluggish when you arent moving, there is an obvious difference between the responsivness of the rpms when you are stopped and when the car is rolling. would be nice if the rpms would respond like they should. there are no cars in real world that dont rev as quick as they can when stopped, none that i know of anyway
ive gotten to the point where I drive just manual on some of the worst offenders just to make sure I don’t bog down on the starting line
Livingtopless this happens in real cars all the time by inexperienced drivers - clutch and throttle need to be applied in first or most cars stall. Are the revs responsive when that happens?
As Satnite said in 2nd post - Tune 1st gear shorter, or go to manual.(no clutch)
I am 57 years old and been driving in real life since 1975. I have driven in Forza for 10 years.
What the OP is talking about is how certain cars in the game seem to not build RPMs if they stop mid race, due to a collision, or other stoppage. Or they build RPMs at a much lower rate. The tachometer might show 8000 RPMs, but the car responds like its at idle.
In cars that I have noticed this happening in, I have tried tuning the gears to be more responsive during acceleration, but this issue seems to be an anomaly, and can’t be tuned out. The only solution I have found is loading up max RPMs and dumping the clutch. But you normally don’t know when it will happen, so you will lose a few seconds in stall mode while you react.
In a normal race, it usually will only cost you about 3 - 8 seconds, which isn’t really a huge issue. But when it’s a close race it can cost you the race.
I’m sure the best solution is to stay on the track, and keep moving. But, sometimes that is out of our control. Like when inexperienced drivers fail to hold a line, or griefers run you off the road. I’m getting better at noticing and preventing those things., butI still end up off the track occasionally.
Peace
It’s a bug that’s yet to be fixed, as Satnite said you need to tune back first gear or turn the clutch off till it gets fixed
That answers my question 100%. Thank you blue
I’d like to throw one more anomaly at you, just to make sure it doesn’t get over looked here… Are you using traction control? If so, turn that sucker off, and that will help out a lot. If it is on, then what the others have posted will help more. But I figured since no one asked about the traction control, I figured I would, just to cover all bases.
Thanks for the heads up. Nope no traction control or stability or even anti lock brakes
Traction control doesn’t normally kick in utility a pre determined speed anyway, so it should have no effect on initial launch.
Hi,i have asked for help on the forum before about this issue but i still can’t resolve it and am losing time every time i race because of it.When ever i race in Xclass my car’s don’t launch if i use man.with clutch,so i have to go with an auto clutch,i have had this problem for month’s now and no amount of updates sort’s it out.Would really appreciate some helpful input on this matter,if anyone can help…
