Can't use Upgraded cars in Campaign?!

I tried upgrading a Z28 to use in my campaign and it says the car is illegal. I thought it was because it was maxed for that class. Took all the upgrades off except one and it still won’t let me use it unless it’s bone stock. This is completely disappointing. Any ideas? Thank you.

Had the samp issue so I shared a tune for the Z28 just for career mode it has a pi of 660.

Guys you havent even started the career mode yet, finish the last series before passing judgment on the career, because then it opens up and yoy can choose what races to do in what class

You do not need to finish all volumes to choose what the class and series you want to do. You can choose the series and class in a volume, as soon as you unlock that volume. The game tries to make you complete a volume in one class and then move onto the next volume, but you don’t have to, if you don’t select the big rectangle on the left. Choose the one in the top right and then you can choose the series and the car class. I have completed volume 1 fully with all the classes and have just started volume a few days ago. I have completed it with SUV juggernauts and muscle cars. Even though I can move onto volume 3, I chose not to.

I am not sure if I am explaining it well, so I may post some screenshots later.

I dislike the fact they upgrade it for you as well which is reflected in the price. I have to go back to remove the upgrades and put my own ones back; the autoupgrade just sucks so I have to go back to the buy cars menu to buy the car I want, and on there you can’t even sort the cars out by championship like FH2 had, very poor.

Doing the auto upgrade is a waste of money. Go into a series and click on buy cars to see what the restrictions are and what cars are eligible (or use MonteoMax’s (sp?) spreadsheet. Then back out and go into the normal Find Cars (Buy Cars) screen and buy the car then upgrade it yourself.

In fact it would be really helpful to have more detailed information on each career event regarding the restrictions. Shouldn’t be that hard to add a small icon for the PI and some lines on other restrictions.

The idea is to keep the playing field level in terms of performance for campaigns and let driving skill not brute force be the reason you win a race. Upgrades work well in rival mode especially!
