So I updated my game loaded it up watched the cutscenes, I haven’t bought the blizzard mountain pack and I won’t for a while but my game is stuck on the screen telling me to buy the dlc, it says press a to purchase or B to go back but it wont let me press B it just stays on the same screen I’ve tried resetting and everything but I’m still stuck here
Just wanted to say I’m having this problem also. Here’s my circumstances…
My account purchased the game.
The game is being played by my son’s account
the game is being played on my HOME XBOX (so should work fine).
My son’s account has purchased some DLC for the game
If I log in then the game works fine, we only have this problem if my son tries playing the game.
Thing’s i’ve tried:
- Turn it off and on again
- Remove the home XBOX option and turn it back on again for my account
That sounds more like a licensing issue to me. If you have mixed licenses in one game, I can see something getting wonky. You’re right, it should all work on your home system. It should work without any purchasing-account logins. But we know how Mr Murphy likes to treat software devs. A support call to MS might help you out here.
Definitely a licencing issue, just wanted to tell my story in case others were googling the problem.
I reported the issue to MS last night and the problem has been escalated, so I’m waiting on a response.

Update: I can now try to buy the Expansion. But I don’t want it and once I press buy I can’t go back from that either. So they really everyone to buy it so bad they didn’t code in the back button to do anything GG forza you guys are terrible
My son really wanted to play the game, so I had no choice but to succumb to their blackmail and I purchased the DLC. It now works. I’m going to write to them to get them to refund me. Absolutely awful that an update to a game forces you to buy DLC before you can play the original content.
I know it’s only happened to a few of us, but how many haven’t reported the problem?
I doubt I’ll get the refund but I’ll ask, and I’ll make sure everyone know’s how they’re happy to hold you to ransom.

I’ll repeat the question I posted elsewhere: Is anyone who has NOT bought the expansion experiencing serious issues? Having an unpurchased DLC block access to a purchased game is about as serious an issue as I can imagine in this context.
Let me phrase it the other way around. Is the updated game working OK for people who have NOT purchased the expansion (aside from the two unfortunates in this thread). If everyone else here has bought Blizzard Mountain, I guess I’m going to have to go seek the answer elsewhere. I’m not updating the game until I get it.

No idea how to fix it I’m stuck just trying to get off the screen but it doesn’t work at all.
So I downloaded the 7gb update hopped on had my car in the garage and was ready to drive. Then I get this nice little cutscene showing off Blizzard Mountan DLC then when it’s over I’m given the option to either buy the dlc or back out to the regular game. That would be great EXCEPT YOU CAN’T BACK OUT. The game registers that you’ve pressed the B button by making a noise. However the game doesn’t do anything. All I can do is watch a slideshow of some cars drifting in snow. I can buy the DLC (funny how that works) but unless I purchase the dlc my game will not back out.
I realize I am not alone several people are having this issue and this is a VERY SERIOUS ISSUE.
so I’ll go over everything.
- I downloaded the 10/13 update
2.after selecting drive from the festival the video for the dlc plays.
3.then I am stuck at the buy purchase screen with a scrolling list of cars and features offered in the game. - the B button is registering that it is being hit but does not back out
- the A button to purchase the DLC is the only button that will work on the buy screen.
So after last night of frustration I uninstalled the game and tried a fresh reinstall.
- reinstalled still the same issue as above
- I can hear the crowd cheering/festival in the background and my car’s engine
- I have performed multiple quits and reboot and hard reset procedures and nothing has resolved the issue.
UNLESS THIS GETS FIXED CONTACT ME BECAUSE IVE NOW GOT THIS COOL HORIZON 3 COASTER/FRISBEE THAT I WOULD LIKE TO GET RID OF.

Been having the same exact issue since last night when I downloaded the update. Sitting at the dlc screen after the video and I can’t back out. I have not downoaded the dlc I have not purchased the dlc I have not purchased anything but game is now bricked because of this stupid bug. I tried doing a reinstall and several hard resets and reboots and still nothing has changed. Im new to the forums is there anyway to report/ talk to someone about this issue because this very serious.

Sound familiar? I’m now quite alarmed about this. It seems there is no way to play the game after this update unless you buy the expansion. If I’m wrong, then someone who can still play after the update without the expansion needs to chime in and tell me different. Otherwise, I will assume that this is yet another horrible screwup from these developers, and that I need to freeze my playable version at the first December update. So much for online play. So much for ever buying more content for FH3.

Ok guys I managed to find a fix for myself I’m not sure if others will be able to do it especially if you have the disk version.
I launched it on my PC and was able to get past the DLC screen I went back onto the auto show and changed vehicles so it would save the game drove around a little and then quit the game, when I went back to my Xbox it asked me if I wanted to use the consoles save game or one from the cloud, when I selected the cloud version of my save it loaded up perfectly and didn’t ask if I wanted to buy the DLC I’m playing it now. Hopefully this will help anyone who has the digital version.
That won’t help anyone who can’t play the game on PC, which is probably most of the player base.
Every time I think these people have hit a new low, they show me how wrong I am. In the hands of any other reputable business, this would be a scramble, an emergency. Everyone huddles around, and works diligently to resolve the mess. Here, there is nothing but official silence, and the muffled clamor of the victims everyone is ignoring. Wow . . . Just when I thought I’d seen everything.
I have a similar issue. except i have bought the expansion pass but when i try to play the blizzard mountain it brings me to the purchase options and said that it is purchased but i cant play the dlc. any suggestions.
i have unplugged the console and i double checked and the pass is downloaded.

I’m having the same issue as OP. Did not buy the expansion. Can not play my game at all. All I can do is watch a video trailer for BlizMount and then am stuck on A BUY screen. A button takes me to check out. B button goes click but nothing happens.
Contacted Forza Motorsports on twitter. They said try a hard reset. Did not change anything. They said they are working on it.
…maybe tomorrow.
Sick of it now and want a full refund unless the game is fixed by day already missed one of the events yesterday. Can anyone advised how to contact for refund???
