I was hoping someone could help me out here. On certain races in Byron Bay, I will approach a turn, break well in adavance, begin my turn in, but the car will not turn. As a matter of fact, when watching replays, I can see that the wheels are pointing straight, though I know for a fact that I turned the car to the right as hard as I could.
The question is, is this due to elevation transitions? Its the only thing I can think of. It wasn’t due to drafting, and it wasn’t due to weather. It tested those already.
I have had a few cars do that… I just brake, steer, brake, steer, brake steer… if I hold the brake button it won’t steer… could be a input thing, maybe the brake commands have to clear before the steer command makes it in. who knows.
Well, that is comforting. I’d hate to feel like i’m the only one experiencing this.
And to add to it, it is specifically when making right turns. I have not experienced this making lefts so far.
It didn’t seem to be an issue of braking while turning, I usually brake before the turn, then throttle through it.
What seems to resolve the issue, is if I tap the e-brake to kick the rear out similar to what CopybookEarth18 said, “I just brake, steer, brake, steer, brake steer”. However, that then breaks me loose and I can’t rip through the turn as I usually do.
Mind you, I have been driving B class cars with max handling options, and very little engine work at all. My tuning usually includes a touch of negative camber on the front, and a touch of toe-out on the front just for better turn-in response. I do tighten up the springs, rebound, and bump stiffness a bit.
But i really don’t think it is the tuning, and I don’t really think it is a ‘glitch’. I think it is just a change in the physics from Horizon 2 to Horizon 3. It is a welcome change if I can confirm that it just “is what it is.” It increases the challenge and skill required, which I am always open to. But I want to be aware of it, and prepare for those moments when it happens to I can conquer it.
Do you notice if it happens both on cars with tuning setups (race level upgrade parts) and cars in stock configuration?
Definitely worth a test. I generally race at B or A class because I feel like it keep the car true to itself. And it has happened on both AWD and RWD cars. Haven’t built a FWD car yet.
But it is definitely worth testing. At one point, I though it was because I lowed the car all the way, and thought maybe it was the down force on the front coming into the turn making the wheel well rub on the front wheels preventing them from turning. But once I brought it back to stock ride height, it still happened.
I’ll try a truly stock car to see if it still happens.
I’ve tried this with a stock car as well. Still having the same problem
Have noticed similar issues in game on mine. Maxed or stock or somewhere in between settings. All cars seem to have an issue turning. ( Especially the Mustangs ) Both controller and when tried friends Steering wheel for X One. turn left or right and on screen car just continues straight. E brake and turn and Well lets just say AAA is on speed dial ( lol ) Playing with break line only showing. Doesn’t seem to solve this, playing with full line doesn’t solve this. playing with break assist causes instant death since it wants to just pulse like your using ABS and not actually touching the breaks. Steering assist was a fun trip. turned the wheel right and the car went left instead smack into a cement barrier wall lol. This needs to be fixed as I and most of the players am usually playing this with all seem to have the same issue. All using Ultimate edition of game, with early access. ( Which during EA it wasn’t an issue to turn… ) HELP FIX THIS ISSUE T-10
You must test this with normal or sim steering, abs on or off, stability control off. Anything else for these settings may cause the issue you refer to. Do not have auto steering, auto braking or stability control on.
If you are not tuning the car (and I mean tuning not upgrading) then the car is setup for drastic understeer ie way too stiff front anti roll bars.
Also if car is not tuned and you try to turn the game will judge that the car will lose grip and therefore kick in a hidden assist that stops you turning until you slow down enough.
Can someone who has this problem try my 71 Nissan GTR tune in A class and let me know if they still have the problem. This car is tuned to turn. If you can’t turn with it then there is a game breaking bug.
I’ve been having the same problem with several different cars,I just go back to the festival an enter an when I come back out the brake issue is gone, for a while.
Here is a video of it happening to me. I’m using normal steering, no stability or traction control, race suspension and wider tires. I also have cosmetic damage on.
Do not uograde front tyre width.
Yeah that doesn’t make sense. wider tires means more rubber on the ground so you can turn easier. This issue isn’t with the tune of the car this is a bug in game because on that turn I clearly was turning into it then it just stopped and I ran into the wall. My thumbstick was turned all the way to the right.
That is not why your steering bailed mid turn but wider tyres ie too wide actually makes it harder to turn.
I don’t think you understand what is happening to us. In my clip my car just stopped turning. this doesn’t happen on every turn I take and it only happens on right turns. This has never been an issue in any of the past forza games. I haven’t even messed with any of the suspension tuning. This is a bug.
